Thanks! It was really, very enjoyable. As with a lot of things it looks so much trickier than it really is.

Now sewn onto the sweater and blogpost is up.

Oh, that is BEAUTIFUL! You did a wonderful job of interpreting your inspiration.

I love Buttonmania too! I miss going to visit Kate when I need buttons for a project 🙁

Small victories, maybe, but I finally figured out this whole ruffle thing…

Does it need to be Oliver s? I made this picnic blanket after it being on my sewing list for 2 years and let me tell you, I’m pretty dang proud of myself for finally doing it. It was a breeze to sew too.. no idea why I procrastinated so hard :/ http://lilypadmontana.wordpress.com/2014/07/30/a-picnic-roll-up-blanket/

I was so happy to have the opportunity to show off somebody else’s sewing!

If you’ve lost hours in the Flickr pool of L. Poel, or if you’re yet to discover her, you might enjoy this: http://blog.kidsclothesweek.com/2014/08/kcw-interview-lucinda/

An interview I did with Lucinda for the Kid’s Clothes Week blog.

Olivia’s quilt is finished! Probably my proudest sewing moment when I held it up to show Ben. And definitely my most emotional sewing moment – the puffed chest of pride was quickly followed by tears as the one person I want to show it to more than any other – my Grandma Ruth – is no longer here. She taught me to piece many years ago, and she and my mum (her daughter) are the reason I know how to & love to sew. I have so many memories of visiting quilt shops with her and have many beautiful things she made, most precious of which is the wedding quilt she pieced & hand-quilted when I got married. She passed away back in February at the age of 92. I know I will see her again one day, but oh how I miss her.

Anyway, here’s the quilt! I googled ‘how to miter quilt corners’ and the tutorial I used worked out so well.

And a pic collage of a couple of my favorite blocks and the back:

I plan to make coordinating crib bumpers (& perhaps a crib skirt) once I’ve finished a couple other sewing projects.

I can’t post any links, at the moment, but I just wanted to share that many O+s outfits I made in the past year were entered in the local fair, and all but 1 took first place! And that 1? It took second, of course!

I have to admit, I am very pleased with myself 😉
