Olivia’s quilt is finished! Probably my proudest sewing moment when I held it up to show Ben. And definitely my most emotional sewing moment – the puffed chest of pride was quickly followed by tears as the one person I want to show it to more than any other – my Grandma Ruth – is no longer here. She taught me to piece many years ago, and she and my mum (her daughter) are the reason I know how to & love to sew. I have so many memories of visiting quilt shops with her and have many beautiful things she made, most precious of which is the wedding quilt she pieced & hand-quilted when I got married. She passed away back in February at the age of 92. I know I will see her again one day, but oh how I miss her.
Anyway, here’s the quilt! I googled ‘how to miter quilt corners’ and the tutorial I used worked out so well.

And a pic collage of a couple of my favorite blocks and the back:

I plan to make coordinating crib bumpers (& perhaps a crib skirt) once I’ve finished a couple other sewing projects.
