Welcome to the Building Block Dress book tour! We’re kicking off the tour with Brittney who blogs at Sew for Four (Plus One!). She has contributed to the Oliver + S blog a lot and I mean a lot!
Where to begin? Let’s see, there’s her favorite pattern post, the Puppet Show shorts round-up and sew-along, and the Gallery Tunic sew-along.
She has also contributed five fantastic tutorials:
- Fox Playtime Dress
- Rapunzel Fairy Tale Dress
- Hooded T-shirt Tutorial
- Faux-layered Long Sleeve T-shirt
- Knit Romper
We’re starting off the book tour with a bang. Brittney didn’t sew just one dress, but several items! Go to her post on her blog to read all about them.

I have five kids, ranging from 11 to 2. I live in the southwest corner of Utah, a short drive from gorgeous national parks like Zion’s and Bryce Canyon or Las Vegas, depending on your preference. I haven’t been further east or north than Utah, apparently we are not much of a traveling family but when we do it is to the west coast.
My favorite fabric store is Raspberry Creek Fabric, I probably purchase 85% of my fabric there as she carries a wide range of substrates.
I taught myself to sew about five and a half years ago, just before I had my twins. My first sewing machine was actually my husband’s. He had one when we got married that he used to make simple repairs on his clothes and I eventually took it over. I have since upgraded and added a serger to my room. I love sewing with wovens, but don’t mind the instant gratification of a knit project.
Come back here on Friday when we’ll have the next book tour participant. See you then!
What a great variety of dresses, and I love that each suits the specific girl so well. I have to try the elastic bell sleeve, gorgeous.
Gorgeous headshot Brittney! Love the dresses/top too!!
Nicely done Brittney ;o)
