I tend to go back to “Fit for Real People”, Palmer/Pletsch Publishing when I get stuck with fitting.

I will have a look in the morning, I am sure I have some.
I would love to have you round for a pot of tea and we could both have a play.

I wish we lived closer to each other. I’m looking for 5/8″ cotton in white.

I cut out a size 4, with added length, for my granddaughter in October and put it aside waiting for back ordered contrasting fabric. My granddaughter grew in the meantime. The finished chest of the size 4 is 25. Her chest measures 23.5. Will she have enough room to move if I go ahead and sew it?

  • Becky, I checked out my notes on this pattern and I have made the large size and the small and I have not made mention of any discrepancies.
I am sorry not to be more help.

I am happy to share, I was given the contents of a drapery section of a small country shop. It posts very cheaply.
Let me know what you are after and I will see what I have.

Thank you, you’re so kind. If there’s anything you need in the states please let me know.

I am so gutted! I went to wash the marker out of the little white bubble today and ended up with a horrible yellow mark where the blue marker was! It is currently soaking in napisan and white vinegar. If it doesn’t come out then I shall have to make another one and remove the ribbon from the ruined one to reattach it.

    I have a small pile of…[Read more]

I’m relatively new to sewing as well. I love the idea of a Craftsy gift certificate.

If you do want to include a book to, I’m liking Essential Sewing Reference Tool: All-in-One Visual Guide. I spend at lot of time with google and my sewing machine manual while I’m sewing as well.

That’s so nice of you to do this for her.

  • I’m making this right now and came to the forum to see if anyone else had had a question about attaching the sleeves. I thought I had everything lined up correctly, but I have about 1/2″ more in the armhole than the sleeve cap. The only way I can correct this now is to increase the overlap of the front and back yoke where they button. Gonna work…[Read more]

My waist is too big for my pants
I wonder if, maybe, by chance
    They shrunk in the wash
    Yet I’m ever so posh

My waistline’s too big for my pants
I wonder if, maybe, by chance
    They shrunk in the wash?
    If so, I’ll just toss
In my waistline to spin till they match!

I must plan an easy buffet

Oh yes, how did I forget about Craftsy? Perfect suggestion! That way, she can choose herself. Smart people in this forum!!

Oh yes! Jane that would be even better than a book. They have classes for all levels and she can learn all sorts of techniques – even how to make curtains!

Janice a book is a wonderful idea but I think if I were you I would look at craftsy. Then with all the recommendations for books in the many classes, she could tell you which book she would…[Read more]
