Isn’t that pattern piece curved on the top? Did you flip the sides? I think it is higher where it joins the back than the front. I’ve done that before.

Are you using corduroy? I have found with making them in corduroy that if I sew from the pants top instead of from the leg cuff I stand a better chance of them meeting up with just a slight trimming of less than a quarter inch. I have made size 2t and size 8 and there was a little ‘creepage’ that needed to be trimmed but I put that down to possibly sewing inaccurate seams and the slippery cord I was using.

Jeanna, what size are you making?

I have made three pairs and have not had this issue. Are you sure that maybe you traced the wrong line on one pattern piece? Could you maybe take a picture and put on flicker of the problem?

(otherwise that place is totally useless. i asked where the magnetic snaps were and the woman helping me said, yes we have them, around somewhere. I had to ask again to get her to tell me where!)

I used the same ones that Maggie linked to above, only I got them at Jo-ann. But part of the reason I did that is I was making a raincoat and wanted to be able to sandwich the snaps between the two layers of fabric. If you’re making a wool coat, I’d probably go with Lightning’s suggestion. The tabbed snaps are meant to be seen, while I feel…[Read more]

Tamara, shipping from (and to) the US will be the death of my checking account. I made burp cloths for a friend in the US and they weighed 500 g (1 lbs-ish) and it cost $19!

Lotta, I still have some Cw knit too so you aren’t the only one. I found when using it for the hopscotch tops that it stretches out of place. For the tunic or dress it would be rather sweet I should think – I’m reserving mine for that anyway.
