Do you mean organdy? I’m always terrified that the buttonholes will go wonky and completely ruin an expensive and beautiful project. Truth be told, I use a hand picked zipper for special things like this. It’s extremely strong, allows me the most control and I don’t have to worry about buttonholes ruining the fabric. I thought they were only for using when you designed your own patterns and you cut notches in the tissue! Are you saying they work to cut out notches in fabric?? If so, I am definitely getting some!

Hugo managed to get some rice cereal into trixie so she slept all evening instead of me feeding all evening
I got the trousers and skirt made and a Continental blouse made up to setting in the sleeves

I prewashed some lawn to make another trial run for husbands Liberty shirt. He has lost weight so the last one is too baggy now

Here it is. It wasn’t the most invisible of invisible zippers

I think the problem with a button placket would be that it will need to cross the waist seam. Since the bodice and waistline are fairly fitted I’m not sure a partial button placket would allow you to get the waist past shoulders or hips.

I topstitched the teaparty dress and made buttonholes but that is all the actual sewing I did today.

I cut three layette shirts and two bodysuits all with white backgrounds so I can sew them all at the same time.
