      lovely design, fun to sew!
Reviewed by Maggie Odell ( Verified Buyer) on 05/21/2024
I've been wanting to make a blouse with an interesting sleeve design for several years and this design turned out to be perfect for my petite frame. The flattering V neckline, inverted back pleat, and gentle lantern sleeve all work together to create an interesting, versatile blouse. This was my first blouse in the Liesl pattern line, so it took me a couple of muslins to figure out the right size. I wish I had taken the time to lower the bust dart while I was working out the fit. But it's a lovely blouse. The V-neckline is just right, and the smooth sleeve cap makes the sleeve interesting without being bulky in the wrong places. I have enjoyed wearing it, and I look forward to making it with other sleeve variations.

Nice blouse pattern which I made in a very sheer knit. So I had to completely line it. I like that the v neck is not too low

Happy with my make of this blouse. The only modifications were I shortened it. Pattern and instructions were good. I did French seams where I could which made it a tad smaller than it should be. Cotton voile. Will make another one with long sleeves in thicker fabric.

Love the design of this blouse and made it in size 10 A/B cup in a horizontal stripey seersucker cheesecloth - it came out beautifully with the special lantern sleeves - and fits me well. (Bust apex might be a tad high but it is great help to have cup sizes) I made with paper pattern and first outlined my size with highlighter, then traced my size onto squared-Pella interfacing (an extra step) using energel 5.0 mm red pen...then using that for cutting out the fabric as usual etc... I liked the helpful instructions and tips for finishing. YAY! I am looking forward to making another :)

I am now sewing up the lovely Geneva blouse pattern with some beautiful thrifted, lightweight fabric. Cut out a 16D cup, and it looks like a perfect fit on my 5’10” frame! The only change I made was moving the bust dart point 1.5 inches lower, which changed the side seam shape. But, no worries, it fits fine. Plus, I didn’t need to add my usual extra 1-3 inches length, as the Geneva is nice and long. Win, Win! I will definitely make this pattern again! Thanks, Liesl!

Lovely blouse. It went together very nicely. However it took me 2 days to put the pattern together. This was the most difficult pdf pattern I had ever done. I think I will know how to put my next pdf from you together

      Great pattern sized well
Reviewed by Kerrie ( Verified Buyer) on 03/09/2023
I was very happy with this pattern. Having the larger bust adjustment worked well, and fit was perfect. Pattern instructions were good. After reading blogs, I altered the 1st 2 tops I made. I had cotton fabric, and ended up cutting the bottom straight. I can tuck in, or wear boxy. I brought the back pleat closer to the waist, so it wouldn't look so full in the back. I also eliminated button holes, and sewed buttons through facing since it slips on easily. On the 2nd top, I made shorter sleeves. I love the lantern sleeve on the 1st top. I will find a silkier fabric for next version and keep it long.

I have the pdf version of this pattern. Before I say anything else may I say how much I appreciate the tiles (select only the size you want to make !)… also the scissor icon indicating which paper piece to cut off. It made it so easy. I then made a toile in calico - which I loved - made one sleeve from each view to see which I preferred but I still think I need to go up a size (or 2!) to get a fabulous fit ( I’m a bit chunkier than I’d like to be at the moment) … so I’ve printed off the next round of sizing to make a second toile. One of the other things I like is the tips which are included in the pattern instructions ( do this because …) it soothes my enquiring mind. Watch this space for updates. I already have about 3 versions planned.

Have already made two of these blouses

Once again, a main reason for purchasing this pattern was to avoid the FBA. The cup sizing makes all the difference to the fit. I've now made two of these blouses with the bell sleeves, one in a flowy polyester cotton mix and one in a drapey, fine, floral jersey. I love them both. Although the V-neck looks quite low when the blouses are on a hanger, the depth is actually perfect - even for a D-cup. The only downside: sewing seven tiny buttonholes! My old Bernina couldn't cope and I had to sew all 14 by hand. (I may use snaps next time.)

I was absolutely impressed with how quick my pattern arrived from the USA to Australia, I tracked it constantly. Unfortunately, I have only managed to cut out the paper pattern, but am getting close to making a toile (Aussie speak). Thank you, will let you know how my garment turns out.

I just finished my first Leisl & Co pattern. I made Geneva V-neck blouse with lantern sleeves. I found the directions to be clear and easy to follow. I'm thrilled to find a pattern with the C and D cup options. I was a little clumsy fitting the side seams together, but I figured it out. I plan to make this again with the bell sleeve in a linen fabric.

I just completed the “Geneva” blouse with lantern sleeves. The instructions are clear and I love the C-cup adjustments. The front fits beautifully, but the back is a little snug. I probably should have sized up to a 12. All in all, it turned out beautifully and I’m really proud of the results.

This pattern is lovely and I love how all the pieces fit together perfectly. The instructions are very clear and I had the blouse finished in just a few hours. The only part I struggled with was putting the PDF pattern together, but once I figured it out, it was quick to assemble. I'm definitely going to sew another blouse with the bell sleeve soon!

There are so many companies out there now and I've tried several since taking up sewing clothing again. It's been 25 years or more since I sewed my own clothes. So far your Geneva V-neck Blouse pattern had the best, the very best, instructions. They were so clear. I made the blouse out of flannel and it fits!! Thank you for this good experience.

Reviewed by andrea thompson ( Verified Buyer) on 11/20/2021
I toiled this in a slightly less drapey fabric which gave a fairly sculptural sleeve, which I felt I was less keen on. The fit was excellent as was the drafting. I shortened the body but that is normal for me. The completed blouse was made in a black spotted viscose and has been worn multiple times already. I did find the instructions overly complex and the images a bit small . I would also have like to see more variation included in the pattern to make it better value for money.
