I added an inch to the centre front fold and the back for a baby Bubble dress, it was a lovely poofi-ness.

Most annoyed that I couldn’t find a good piece of linen suitable for the Sandbox trousers — wound up cutting them from a sandy cotton … something, not sure what to call it. Not twill, but heavier weight, like that. Speck of stretch to it, I think, it’s a bit hard to tell.

Sarvi replied to the topic Tips for fabric shopping in New York in the forum off topic 10 years ago
You know, I’m afraid I actually wound up not doing any fabric shopping, as I was there for only a very short time, so I tried to only see/do/eat things I couldn’t get at home or online. I did pop into Purl Soho because it was close to something else I wanted to visit, and I did go to the wonderfully-named Tender Buttons, which I very highly…[Read more]

I just wanted to let everyone know I was able to use woven fabric for part of the Hopscotch top! This opens up a lot of possible fabric combinations. I thought it might work, and sure enough, I replaced the front with woven fabric and it worked. Sarvi replied to the topic Hey, what's wrong here? in the forum about the forums 10 years ago
Hi @admin — I’m terribly sorry but I’m afraid I’m not able to recall what I was using at the time. I feel it *should* be in Chrome on my MacBook but I’m not seeing it any longer. I can give you version numbers and a screencap of what I see now, if you like.

As @justmejay and others have mentioned, I agree that the @mention thing is kind of weird and doesn’t work how you might expect. Sadly, I don’t think I can fix this easily since it’s a deeper level issue in our forums software. However, I have made a tweak that makes the autocomplete of @mentions work in the reply box, which should help to some…[Read more]

I am bringing this thread back from the semi-dead.
@Sarvi: In this comment do you know what device and/or browser you see that issue with? I’ve been trying to figure out under what conditions that happens.

Sew Alongs 10 years agoJust finished mine today! I love this pattern! So quick and easy to sew and it looks awesome with the perfect pleats. It wouldn’t add a photo so I am linking it to the flicker one. https://www.flickr.com/photos/mama_knowles03/19098452415/in/pool-oliverands

Without wanting to cause offence to Chestnut (last thing you need is to have to take him to counselling!) is he a portly bear?
The only place I could imagine you’d need to alter would be the waist if he/she was very rotund.
Otherwise it’s just a matter of scaling up or down if you think Chestnut is much bigger/smaller than the average doll.

All of our knit patterns have additional tips and guidance included in the instructions, so that’s probably a good place to start as well. It’s not very difficult, and it’s actually much faster than sewing with wovens, so don’t be intimidated!

Great fitting tips here — I made a size 5 for my kid and they were a bit baggy on her, she’s inherited dad’s aerodynamic lines, haha.
