Slowly does it I’m afraid @Nicole he is on “light duties” and we plan to start seeding the crop dry around Anzac and “plod” our way through.

The gator is the best thing since sliced bread – very economical and uses less fuel oer km than the motorbike – so my digging in of the no bike heels has paid off to great advantage – never liked bikes…[Read more]

@thejennigirl, I replied over in Current Affairs 🙂

    @justsewit this one http://www.lekala.co/catalog/skirts/pattern/5093#model

There is not a lot of hand holding with this company though. My Twins love the style but I have to concentrate and do a lot of googling to figure things out.

Enjoy your daughter liking pink, that will likely fade out…[Read more]

I hope Murray continues to heal @justsewit

@thejennigirl (moving the conversation over here) my husband was really excited to see a seed&super unit (farm equipment) for sale online, for a really good price, think $10,000 under what it should be. He spent the day ringing the listed number to finally contact the exasperated vendor. The listing was…[Read more]

@Nicole is a button up the front skirt or just the normal denim skirt style? I found a pattern in my adult stash the other day that I can use to make a button up one for my teen, just like the ones in the shops (but most likely requested in pink) of course it needs to be approved first.

That is for the school holidays though because I have three…[Read more]

Babies grow far, far too fast.
Their childhood I know will not last
    Some days might drag on
    Sewing goals are not won

Oh no @thejennigirl, it is funny to read but not so funny to deal with, I am sure.

I finished a hooded top for my daughter and now I am on to a denim skirt.

My baby girl loves the outside so I am not getting as much sewing done, my garden looks lovely though 😉

  • This is really useful, thank you so much for sharing it.

  • You posted just right @thesimpson5.

Just a wee tip, if you are short on fabric, you *can* cut the tie in three pieces. The back neck section on bias so it fits nicely and the tie sections on straight of grain. It is a bit fiddly but saves a lot of fabric if you are pushing things.…[Read more]

Early morning posting is quite a novelty I really need to not do. But I can’t sleep at the moment!

I ended up cutting three Playdate dresses but due to a very early wake up call, I really didn’t get far. The yokes have the minipiping added but not finished off and all the other pieces are stitched and ready to sew to completion. I plan to spend…[Read more]

  • Have fun! As I was looking for this pattern, I noticed the 2+2 blouse has ties at the neckline, and one of the views of the Birthday Party has ties at bodice — might like to check those out, you too, Jeb 🙂

    Happy sewing, folks!

  • There is very little difference in length among the sizes 5-8, looks like about 1/8 to 1/4 inch difference between sizes. They’re all 3.25 inches wide. The size 8 has notches on both long sides at the same point, 9.25 inches from the straight end. The length is 26 and 3/8 for the size eight, measured along the long edge, and the pointy tip is 3/4…[Read more]

I have been up very very early this morning thanks to an insomniac toddler who thought 3.30 was get up time – oi! Thankfully she is now back in bed and I can continue to encourage the boy that it is actually get up and get ready for school time, all whilst cutting out more playdates.

I have two cut and a third in the wings! I think I am…[Read more]
