  • This time he’s having the version without feet as it’s summer and for camping. But He wants one in coral fleece with feet and hood for winter 🙂

Oh I had a look at that pattern last time I was on that site. I will be very interested to see how it turns out Heidi and how you find the pattern. I used the Jalie jeans pattern earlier this year but followed along with the Craftsy class with Angela Wolf to make them. I’m glad I did it that way because I don’t think they would have been completed…[Read more]

  • Tamara replied to the topic What size "scraps" do you keep? in the forum off topic 9 years ago

I sort mine out according to size and anything with chunks is cut into say a charm square size. Of course with knits it is different – anything that can accommodate a neck band is kept or is enough to use for contrast sleeves etc. i have a basket of knit scraps that many would possibly be big enough for the layette bodysuit.

    The bigger pieces -…[Read more]

  • I’m sorting my fabric at the moment. I’m trying to work out what size to keep and when to throw!
I made a pouffe last January and any smallish scraps from cutting have been going in there. It’s nearly full, I might need to make another one for this year 🙂
But what are the smallest usable scraps for Oliver and S sewing? What pattern?
    I’m…[Read more]

  • I just got Jalie 3244 (footed onsie pattern)! I’m going to make my husband one, but it has to be an animal, so it will be a panther 🙂 But first I’m making a baby one to check out the construction order and pattern.

I will be binding necklines, sewing on buttons and lace and threading elastic today – hopefully! I was up for three hours tidying up the disaster zone that was the lounge area very early this morning due to insomnia.

It must be in the air!

My Twins have moved their desks to their bedroom so I have set up my cutting table in our sewing/children’s office.

Tildy and Liddy are quite happy to make and work on one end of that and as it is 31/2 metres long there is plenty of room.

I am sewing a Class Picnic for Lids, red taslon for the shorts to wear over swimmers…[Read more]

  • The cowboy outfits reminds me of the illustrations in my nursery books, very retro and cute.
    I adore vintage patterns too.

  • I know I mentioned it earlier but I have had huge success from eBay, to the degree I have more then I need.
I am debating purchasing a 5m for $25 now as I don’t need it straight away but it is such an excellent price for cotton/lycra (and this stuff is wide, 160cm+)

You could set up a search and browse when feeding.
I would be very happy to send…[Read more]

  • I had this conversation with my mother, I wanted her to remove a zipper from the side and put it in the back so my dress was easier to get on.
This resulted in a lecture on bad underwear and no patience. She refused to do it, said it would spoil the dress line and to give myself more time getting dressed.

If you watch some older movies, they…[Read more]

  • Mine only uses nutmeg Tamara. I will type up the recipe a bit later. It is very easy, just a bit of prepping.

  • I haven’t made anything for myself with a side zip but have had dresses with in the side. I found they were easier to get into if it wasn’t too fitted at the side but them my bodyshape is completely different.

I do love the design of this dress and I believe you could insert the zipper in the back without it altering the entire look. Using an…[Read more]

  • Nicole can you make kedgeree minus coriander? For some strange reason it seriously disagrees with me. But it does look tasty. Don’t you make it at Easter time also?

I will need to ask the mobile fishman if he has haddock on his list.

I love sweet potato! We tried growing it but they turned out inedible.
