Good question Sarvi!
I like that the dress isn’t broken up with lots of seams, and the little cap sleeves.
I don’t mind doing a bit of fiddling, I could draft it myself from scratch, but I have better things to do with my time!Carousel and Class Picnic blouse both look possible.

Oh, that’s an odd looking zipper foot! Can you bring the needle very close to the attachment point? Good luck!

How much fiddling do you want to do, and what is it that you like about the dress? At first glance the Carousel looks like a good bet.

Haha, I’m glad somebody gets my shoe obsession! These were my first pair of ‘good’ shoes, I got them 75% off at the post New Year’s Sale at Neiman Marcus and they still cost what felt like an arm and a leg. I still wear them, though! Got my money’s worth in the long run.

Hurrah, hurrah, I am sewing!! We bought a cheapy ironing board so use until my super duper one arrives. Glad it’s not my permanent one, if I iron right at the pointy end it tries to tip over!
However…
My first project is cot rail protectors, as Josephine has turned into a rodent/beaver as soon as she got in the brand new cot. Grrrr. I’ve…[Read more]

M-C, ultimately you are the one who has to be comfortable, and you are the one who knows your friends and what will make you look like part of the group vs what will make people gasp and clutch their pearls. I’ve been to weddings where I felt underdressed in an embroidered silk Oscar de la Renta two-piece and to weddings where I felt overdressed…[Read more]

On changing threads, I have changed projects to a pink floral and linen tea party dress. I have knickers to sew and the ensemble can move into the handstitching basket.
Tomorrow I will continue with the puppet show shorts so they can join the stitching basket too.

I’ve only checked it out of the library. I wasn’t particularly impressed although I think they may have had a Lego carrier I thought was clever.
I felt that the sizing was limited, only went to 6/7, although much better than many other books that only go to size 6. There were lots of raw edge techniques, so it depends if you like that style…[Read more] -
