Chloe’s going through another growth phase and isn’t sleeping too brilliantly. So as a result my sewing time is suffering slightly.
I have managed to use the overlocker to finish the edges of the Teaparty dress and the carousel dress I have cut out – both pink. The aim is to pleat the carousel and sit and do some smocking and embroidery either…[Read more]

I love the first way shown in this blog. http://foursquarewalls.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/narrow-hem-three-ways.html
I uses the serger and machine, is really easy and gives a great narrow hem finish 🙂 -

Ok, my husband is home so I handed the baby to him (she is going through a non sleeping phase). Ok I have the instructions out and am looking at the diagram you uploaded.
The dotted line indicates the centre box pleat. So what you need to do is have the fabric folded and stitch down the dotted line to form to centre pleat. Then with the side…[Read more]

The Kaffe Fassett shot cottons make lovely play shirts. They only need the lightest of ironing once made up.

If you are finding it hard to get a nice turn, try basting a turning guide with a long stitch (#4). This will no only give you an accurate fold line but will gently ease the fabric.
If it is not enough ease, you can gather the stitches, just a bee’s whisker. -

I was just catchin up and found your many posts. Let me put my baby down for a nap and then I can get the instructions out to help you ok?
I am actually looking to trace out this pattern in the 6-12 month size so hopefully I can walk you through together with completing it at the same time.
Will be back in a little while to talk you through ok?

I second @miss_sonja – I was actually going to ask for the same things – some well constructed girls undies (different styles), a tank, a camisole. I was even thinking about a slip to wear under very lightweight dresses rather than do a lining.

So, no wedding dress sewing yet. The wedding has no date, or location…just the participants so far! Both my daughter and her boyfriend are getting their careers together – unfortunately, these careers are happening about 90 miles away from each other. They know they want a fall wedding – hopefully, 2016! On a positive note, my daughter is…[Read more]

Just realised I’ve now modified all 4 pieces of the parachute pants. I added extra width to the hem to fit over the casts at the ankle better. I already made the waistband 2 pieces and changed the stripe into an overlap 🙂

Just finished the PJ side opening parachute pants before dinner, now onto the blue school uniform ones for tomorrow morning!
I thought I had an extra day before she went back to school but fortunately she is able to go back earlier than we initally thought 🙂 -
