I have a Brother SE400. I don’t have any software, but I did use a trial version of Sew What Pro when I was doing some monograms. There are a ton of resources online for Sew What Pro.
If you are just doing designs, you generally don’t need software, unless you are going to merge designs or alphabets. Call me an enabler, but the absolute…[Read more]

Hi @caraskates, I think they will look adorable.
I have a tute here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2011/08/short-cut-sailboat-pants.html if you would like a look at the construction (apologies for the dated graphics, I was in my colour phase)
These are a great trouser to size up, which will give you that longer leg you are…[Read more]

Nicole replied to the topic Zipper (or other closure) for the quilted vest in the forum oliver + s: school days 8 years ago
I remember that style jacket being very popular in the 70’s.They were often fastened with a frog closure.
Would that work for you?Or you could finish the edge and then baste an open end zipper under the front edge and then topstitch in place?
I hope that is some help?

Nicole replied to the topic Ribbon in the forum oliver + s: garden party 8 years ago
@housecall, if I may be so bold, here is a tute http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/the-garden-party-tutorial-part-one.html
Unless your ribbon is very firm I would be inclined to sew it on top rather then replace the yoke and waistband.
*Love* this pattern, have fun.

Yay @angelwingneedlearts, I am so pleased.
Three inches would be no problem at all, I added that to a swish little black hanky linen version.~Nicole~

I have added length to the Portfolio with is sort of the ‘prequel’ to this lovely pattern.
I added it to the bottom, continuing the slight ‘A’ line effect.
Don’t forget to add to all the panels. 🙂
I hope that helps.

I have had the best idea, an O+S Moto jacket!
How cool would that be?It would totally work for a baby (from an old leather jacket) to a pre-teen.
Totally unisex.Please Liesl, puh-lease!

@sarvi that song makes me cry even on a good day. I saw that the LAUSD head was getting criticized for the closures – I’m glad he did it. Our kids live in a jacked up world. I get tired of trying to tell my kid why people are sleeping in the street, and why we just bought a bunch of gifts for a 3 year old who was homeless but now has a home and…[Read more]

Oh Sarvi, I am so sorry.
You did just the right thing, no need to scare such a young child. A ‘facility’ issue is the perfect reason.
Huge hugs.
