The Fairy Tale dress, in the small size range only, has indeed gone out of print. It’s still available as a digital pattern. As is always the case, when we near the end of our stock on an item we evaluate sales and determine if there is justification to do a reprint. This pattern wasn’t selling at the level required to maintain it in paper.
It…[Read more]

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 11 years agoI believe it is broken down into 2 size ranges – 1-4 and 5-8. Here’s a link for the size 5-8 that I searched on google. I KNOW the back of the pattern has sizes 1-8 listed, so I think it is legit!

It is a shame postage is so expensive over to Tassie, I received a box of fabric and notions a few days back and there is a bendy ruler thing in there. I will toss it in with the polar fleece Heidi.
I finished a Field Trip tee for Tildy but the neck was too large and I missed it before I had topstitched it. I ended up making it work with poppers…[Read more]

Draft the pattern piece on to the the fabric, but leave extra length at the waist. You can cut that off if you need to.
Or add to it.I have a post here in which I muddled through the process, but it worked!

I’m so glad you like them! You’ll have plenty of time to sew for Easter, @justsewit. They are on their way from the printer as I type! We should have time in stock shortly.

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 11 years agoNot for Easter, but I have been planning Beatrix’s outfit for her 11 month photo.
I have taken a portrait of each of my babies at 11 months of age, wearing a smocked outfit.
Beatrix was lucky enough to receive two smocked dresses from her honorary Nana in Canada and the little white dress will be perfect for the photo.

We can hit the machines together @justsewit.
@lattemama, that sounds amazing. I did some screen printing at school and loved it. I still have my carved lino prints somewhere…. I was heavily influenced by Margaret Preston.

I understand where you are coming from MC. My husband has offered me his office and he will move to the children’s office/my sewing room but then I will be shut away and probably get less chance to sew.
I actually sewed today, so excited about that. It is two weeks since I had my surgery but it knocked me for six.

I have a jacket just like that one that I bought in my early 20’s. It doesn’t fit anymore but I refuse to let go of it. As I remember it wasn’t cheap! Maybe now I could make a new one.

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 11 years agoSome time ago, I had the honour of arranging accommodation and a venue for classes given by Gail Doane and Susan O’Connor. The duo were doing a sort of “Thelma and Louise” tour across North America in Gail’s suburban. Lucky me, they chose to put Toronto on their route.
I got to spend a whole week taking classes with Gail and what a wonderful…[Read more] -
