The attachments below are of the ‘contrasting’ car fabric used for the pockets (front and back), and the waistband on size 5 Sandbox. Be interested in any/all opinions. The dark brown cord doesn’t photograph well so I didn’t bother with Flickr, or photographing the Sketchbook shorts. The bright orange pants-two pairs- are about halfway done.…[Read more]

oh dear, poor little girl that she has to worry about such stuff, so young. Tie double bows, and tell her that the boys are just jealous. Good luck, mummy. All my ‘littles’ wear t-shirts underneath the popover dresses – unless they are at home, and it’s stinking hot. Don’t know about the 90’s and tees; Aussies are always concerned about sunburn,…[Read more]

Dear Jen,
so sorry that life is such hard work at present but I think you’ve chosen a great pattern to restore your mojo. I want to try the multipanel Swing Skirt even the weather here is too chilly, really. Just for the fun of putting some ‘half-yard’ pieces together to make a pretty combo. Amazing to think that your little girl is 6 and 1/2,…[Read more] -
needlewoman replied to the topic spring 2015 patterns – when?? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 8 years ago
An Aussie Autumn with some new O + S patterns won’t be the same; however, our Spring should be fun when the new book comes out. Very much looking forward to it.

Never thought it was, dear lady. These ‘things’ are sent to try us; the price of being able to communicate ‘on line’. Dear T, thank you for the tips about ‘spotting’ a spammer/intruder ahead of time. This ‘innocent abroad’ can use all the education she can get; especially, as the more vicious types ie. the ones that want to ransom your files for…[Read more]

Looking forward to seeing you model your new tee, N, and congratulations on completing H’s blazer. What’s modal? Me too, about this book, Liesl. At risk of being awkward/demanding, is your book ‘coming out’ instead of new kids’ patterns? It occurred to me that it’s about “now” that your new Spring/Summer patterns have been launched, in the past,…[Read more]

Ha, ha; well spotted. Don’t have access to the channels to watch this show but I love the GB Bake Show. So refreshing in style/format and delivery in comparison to sheer boredom of similar Aussie shows.

I like the idea of a boyfriend dress, T, and of course, Liesl is right – most people have no idea that male/female button panels differ. My latest error was this morning. I was attaching bias to hem the latest Sandbox pants in wide-wale corduroy. Sewed the bias around one leg, and then joined the bias to fit. When trimming the bias ends, I cut…[Read more]

Yeah, me too, dubhels. Aren’t some people ‘ordinary’? Luckily, we have each other on this forum to suss the fakers out. I did see Todd’s post about the scammer but my email was dated later, and I just wanted to be sure. Sorry that you ladies were ‘puzzled’ too. C’est la vie. On a happier note, I hope you all had a nice Mothers’ Day, last weekend.…[Read more]

I have received an unusual email from “Kate Smith” who claims to have read my profile (I don’t have one); and wants to ‘contact’ for friendship. Is this person the spammer? Can anyone on forum help? I don’t want to be rude if the email is legitimate.

Ditto; so generous of you to take the time to ‘write’ all your work.

I’ll look out for your picture of your AP dress, Simpson5. I’d love to do it with both skirts – just for fun.

Babies grow far, far too fast.
Their childhood I know will not last.
Some days might drag on

Yes, I noticed this pattern, too! Very stylish, and looks very straightforward to sew.
In same vein, Clever Charlotte has a 20% discount on their patterns until Christmas Eve. I’m guessing the stock will go quickly so be ‘foxy’, and go to the website now.
I’m seriously considering purchasing the Raven hoodie/pants; has anyone sewn this pattern?…[Read more]

Some further and better particulars about the attached pictures: Class picnic blouse, size 8, and a modified Hopscotch Skirt, also size 8. Fabric is ‘Geek Chic’ c/o Riley Blake, and aqua pinwale corduroy. I eliminated the front button panel and cut the skirt front on the fold. Very proud of my first ‘takeaway’ pockets. Miss J’s grandmother had to…[Read more]

Hi everybody, I’ve been sewing quite a few things – chiefly, the Class Picnic blouses I cut out while dog-sitting. I have attached pictures of my recent ‘triumphs’ because I cannot load them to Flickr for love nor money. I hope you will take the time to inspect. The stripey outfit is a size 3 Marimeko top/leggings that I couldn’t resist because…[Read more]
