  • @Ejensewchat I’ve just found exactly the same issue as you. My waistband is bigger than my culottes waist. I’m a pretty precise dart and pleat sewer so I’m unsure what’s gone wrong. I am using a stretch chambray/denim, but given that the waistband is interfaced it will stretch much less. Bit baffled as to why it’s this way round and not a smidge…[Read more]

With the May weather though you will be heading into Summer right? That will mean lots of little bloomer pants – cool comfortable and very simple to swap over. The layette pattern is truly and fantastic pattern – and it came at a very fortunate time.

I am onto the final bubble today and will hopefully also get the chance to cut out the puppet…[Read more]

LOL I feel like I am waiting for one of my grands to be born. Justsewit 22 days and counting and not in hospital, Praise God. Blood grand not until May. Hope it is also a girl. I am giving myself the layette pattern for Christmas. I will be borrowing ideas from you and Nicole for this new little.

    Clever!

  • I do a lot of darning by using a small piece of soft interfacing ironed to the back, over the hole, and then I hand sew it with a matching thread making sure not to pull it too tight. A good press afterwards flattens things down.

Often it will just look like a slub in the fabric.

    OOOH I got usurped! 🙂

    The holiday season draws near
Hm, what to make for those I hold dear?
    Jammies or dresses?

Ha! Thank you McStitch, pretty sure any yummy treats would not survive my sewing room in sufficient numbers to be presented as a gift.

I’ll have a peek at the Amy Butler also, thank you Robin!

  • Oooh, rotary blades are so super sharp, please do be very careful. I just use a seam ripper for everything. It’s a bit slower than ripping out an ordinary seam as there’s more thread, but it’s still just thread loops so the concept is the same. Have you got one of these things?

You’d never believe it, I swear
But I’m sewing a bikini to wear
    To swim at the pool
    But I’m nobodies fool…

Thankyou ladies! This one will have mummy made things from day one.

I did the buttonholes and the buttons on the little white bubble this morning before the usual Saturday run around (and I was treated to lunch by the hubby as a belated birthday and a thanks to our worker for helping this harvest which incidentally has quite completed for us). So…[Read more]

Ooh. We might need the keymaster to officiate. The time gives it to Cybele but mine appeared first…. Weird space/time wormhole in the forum?!
Run with whichever you prefer, or both perhaps…

I can’t wait to see the bubble dresses. This little one will be styling. What a blessed baby she will be. One day closer and out of the hospital.
I am working on a pair of jammies for little girl to wear for “Wear Pajamas to School Day”. They have pandas on them and she is excited.
