They really do say the best things!

    My latest favorite:

me scooping up my four year old for a cuddle: “I’ve been waiting all night for this good-morning hug!”

my four year old squeezing tight and whispering in my ear: “I’ve been waiting all night for you to give me a chocolate doughnut.”

Needless to say…he was allowed his doughnut before his eggs.

How timely! Jinx is big at my house right now with my 2nd grader (that and spelling out all conversation by letters…but I digress). My SoCal hubby grew up with “jinx, buy me a soda” I grew up with “jinx, no return” where the person that didn’t say “jinx” fast enough couldn’t speak again until someone said their name.

    Fun thread, Sarvi.

  • I was just thinking today about how you don’t need that much. I’m much more organized than I used to be at planning/sewing/purchasing my kids wardrobes…and they have way fewer clothes. As for babies, their things must be washed instead of sitting around getting sour…so you are right…very little actual need if you do it right.

  • I’m a long time Outlander fan and SOO excited to be watching the show now. Hubby even likes it, so has been a treat to curl up on the couch Saturday nights for it.
I would go with a liberty collar and cuffs myself.
In my dreams…I’ve been making all sorts of fall/winter dressy clothes for the kids. I’ve got a meter of this…[Read more]

  • I just made one of these dresses and used satin (same as my outer) to line the bodice but a lightweight polyester voile for the skirt lining. It worked great. If your taffeta isn’t scratchy you maybe could use the same fabric on the inside…?

Hubby just had to cut up a couple of trees on our lot so, it seemed a good excuse to have a first ever NYE party here. There were lots of kids, dogs, food, and a BIG bonfire. To stay off the roads and be safe the majority of our guests crashed here in a little “tent city” in our back lot. The children were all so excited and surprisingly well…[Read more]

  • Isn’t that pattern piece curved on the top? Did you flip the sides? I think it is higher where it joins the back than the front. I’ve done that before.
