The Fairy Tale dress, in the small size range only, has indeed gone out of print. It’s still available as a digital pattern. As is always the case, when we near the end of our stock on an item we evaluate sales and determine if there is justification to do a reprint. This pattern wasn’t selling at the level required to maintain it in paper.

    It…[Read more]

Heidi its expensive and slow as a wet week! I ordered some miracle blankets and I swear they are walking them across the Nullabor still! They were sent ofer a week ago from NSW.

I managed to sew for an hour last night and again today. I didn’t get a heap done though – just a lot of fiddling and procastinating. I managed to cut and sew neck and…[Read more]

It is a shame postage is so expensive over to Tassie, I received a box of fabric and notions a few days back and there is a bendy ruler thing in there. I will toss it in with the polar fleece Heidi.

I finished a Field Trip tee for Tildy but the neck was too large and I missed it before I had topstitched it. I ended up making it work with poppers…[Read more]

  • Draft the pattern piece on to the the fabric, but leave extra length at the waist. You can cut that off if you need to.
    Or add to it.

I have a post here in which I muddled through the process, but it worked!

No, no voting. It has designated judges. Hence the small panic and dress deconstruction/reconstruction. But I sat down yesterday, and whirred at the machine, and I’m much happier. Fine tooth comb and all.

Oh that is good news! I have to get my sewing skates on then and make room for them.

I’m doing what every crazy person does: I found out I’m one of 5 finalists in a nationwide sewing contest on Tuesday (had to submit 1-3 pictures of garment and a paragraph about said garment, and using a pattern from a provided selection) and so I promptly took my project almost completely apart and am obsessively and painstakingly putting it back…[Read more]

I’m so glad you like them! You’ll have plenty of time to sew for Easter, @justsewit. They are on their way from the printer as I type! We should have time in stock shortly.

It certainly can be challenging running from one end of the house to the other. But if you plan it out it can be doable – i love my slow cooker for that purpose!

I had to help cut out a dolphin pattern with Imogen the other day. She sat there and stitched it together by hand minus instructions. With no power I have had no chance to sew but hope…[Read more]

I’ve made a head start (seeing as I put a child to work – she wants to have so much homework this year to get out of doing dishes – every kids dream escape plan) and am back to the usual on the dishes anyway. The laundry is another story!

@Nicole no popping tummy stitches from you please! It ain’t fun and frustrating to be made to do nothing of…[Read more]

  • Not for Easter, but I have been planning Beatrix’s outfit for her 11 month photo.
I have taken a portrait of each of my babies at 11 months of age, wearing a smocked outfit.
Beatrix was lucky enough to receive two smocked dresses from her honorary Nana in Canada and the little white dress will be perfect for the photo.
    11 months is such a lovely…[Read more]
