The 3 missing pattern pieces were grouped with pattern piece 8, the tee back. It would have been helpful if the pieces had been grouped on a separate sheet included after the other sleeve pieces.

When I received my digital Verdun pattern, I printed all of the pages for view B, size Medium, A/B cup. The sleeve pattern piece, #10, was printed on pages 44 – 49. When I assembled the sleeve, I found that the pattern piece ended at an angle. There was no hem allowance at the bottom of the piece. If you look at the sleeve shown on page 50, it…[Read more]

Liesl, could you please publish a tutorial on how to change the neckline of the Gelato dress to a V neck?

Please see the tutorial “How to Turn a Long Sleeve Shirt into Short Sleeves” by Shelley. This may help you figure out how to modify the sleeve pattern or the sleeve portion of the dress pattern.

lakepa replied to the topic Elastic how long for size 7? in the forum oliver + s: sunny day shorts 6 years ago
Btmom, you can make an adjustable waistband by using buttonhole elastic. I get mine at JoAnn’s. It’s not very sturdy so I use a piece with 4 or 5 buttonholes and sew it to the end of the measured skirt elastic. I sew a 5/8″ button to the inside of the waistband beside where the elastic emerges from the casing. Choose a buttonhole and push the…[Read more]

I’m in northwest Florida, and I don’t live near a large city, either. I get my patterns printed at a local blueprint shop that has a printer that prints pages 36 inches wide. They offer vellum, a paper that’s opaque and rather stiff. From Amazon.com I ordered a roll of tracing paper that’s 36 inches wide. This paper is more flexible than vellum…[Read more]

lakepa replied to the topic what's the most difficult thing you've ever sewn? in the forum off topic 8 years ago
The Archer button-up shirt from Grainline Studio is not all that difficult, but it requires accuracy. It’s loosely fitted, not semi-fitted. It has long sleeves, but I’ve made short sleeves and versions with 3/4-length sleeves. Best of all, the collar isn’t too long for petites. Tamara, you can find Grainline Studio under the shop tab above.

I’d love a women’s version of the Sketchbook shirt and the Parachute Polo, with the collar the right size (not two inches too long). I’d like both short and long sleeves.

The Playdate dress with black on the bottom and sleeves with a white bib yoke with tucks on either side of the center. A tuxedo dress! The pattern goes up only to size 8, though.

lakepa replied to the topic Joining the binding/piping for tea party dress in the forum oliver + s: tea party 9 years ago
I don’t use the method shown in the pattern, Amanda. Start and stop basting the piping or flat piping about two inches from the place where you want to join the ends. Take the left part of the unbasted piping and lay it down along the bodice seam to the join (underarm seam in this case). With a fabric marking pen make a vertical mark on the piping…[Read more]

I, too, would love a Parachute Polo pattern for women.
I’d also like a women’s metro t-shirt with a V neck. Could this be a tutorial?
