The only time I got caught out cutting against the grain was with a silk Birthday Party dress.
I cut the ties, one side with the grain one side against, and the against side stretched a bit.Handle it carefully and it should be fine

I’m running into difficulty sewing the sleeve dart on page 7, step 4. If I sew the “V-notch” with a 1/2 inch seam allowance, I do not reach the dot. If I sew a line beginning with a 1/2″ seam allowance at the neck down to the dot, it doesn’t appear to match the first diagram (and looks wonky). I think I’m just missing something very obvious. @NCMimi, great idea.
I found we had to have a ‘system’ to get the Jumprope dress on my little girl, she had a big head.
She soon learned the ‘procedure’ 🙂I love your dress.
