@LightningMcstitch, that would be amazing! I have it in the car to remind me about seltbelts – and it goes off if you have a heavy bag of shopping on the seat.
The most recent stupid thing has been sewing whilst ill! Don’t do it especially if you are sewing with napped fabric. I attached the frill of the carousel dress upside down so the nap is…[Read more]

I don’t mean to comment so much on this feed, just a lot of my sewing escapades seem to result in mistakes!
I have tonight made more errors on the playtime leggings than there are pattern pieces ๐
I’m quickly (always the first mistake, speed spoils everything) trying to run up two pairs of leggings for the baby ready to jet off on our…[Read more]

I’d like to make my next Gallery tunic a sleeveless version. The last time I left the sleeves off of a shirt pattern (not a Liesl + Co), it ended up being too tight in the underarm area. Any tips to avoid this? Maybe it was just that pattern, but thought I’d ask here to see what you all had to say! Thanks ๐

@motherof5 same thing happened to me! And when I try to mark them ‘read’ or delete, it won’t let me. Strangeโฆ

Well, that was a bit weird.
I just received six random notification emails, some were messages and some were thread comments, all from months back.
Spooky…. -

Nicole, I’m eagerly awaiting the big reveal of the coat!
I had a bit of time on my hands last night while waiting for dough to rise, so I sat down with a cut Maritime and started hand stitching it with button thread, Chaninesque. Not doing the embellishments, just basic construction and tacking down the seams. Going to try it on and then see…[Read more]

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Plaid match up in the forum oliver + s: forest path 10 years ago
There are three places it would be nice to have plaid match, but unless you alter the pattern or are very lucky you’ll probably only manage two out of three.
The 3 areas are: Horizontally across the two front panels. That is to say, if you follow a line of plaid across the body from left to right it should match.
2: Vertically across the front…[Read more] -

Fitting isn’t the issue really, just my fabric choice.
I managed to fix up the piping sewing on the skirt and fuse the interfacing to the respective parts and then the baby woke up (after less than half an hour in bed and to the noise of the truck). So it has been a non eventful and non productive day so far. The kids are due home so I am hoping…[Read more]

Enjoy sewing your shirt Ellen. I think a smart shirt is lovely on a fellow (and I love sewing them too).
Don’t panic, re the Tea Party dress, Tamara. Trixie is 8 months old and I can just squeeze her into the 0-3 month if she is wearing a disposable.
I finished a vintage coat for Lidia and now I am on to one for Elsa. 1960’s I am guessing, by…[Read more]
