  • Yes I still draft mine also but sometimes I cheat and use the paper pieces for the parts that are one size for the whole size range (ie pockets on the puppet show shorts).

So I am intrigued Denise, which pattern did you decide on first?

Wow I never imagined it would be that cold in California! It doesn’t even get that cold here during the day in winter and I thought our weather was pretty similar.

I need to do poppers on the pj shirt and it is ready to wear tonight.
I want to cut a couple of bubble dresses out today with a view of sewing them during the week.

  • Either or possibly both. It would be a rather extensive pattern though wouldn’t it if it were both.

  • Yes a swimsuit would be ideal but it would have to include a boy version also.

I just have the neck binding to stitch down and we have a pair of mini pj’s!

  • Trying to find where the spring patterns were launched last year but having trouble locating it. Will they be soon or next month?

  • I would love an adult version of the secret agent trench. I just priced out a similar one and it was just a bit exorbitant! At least then we could choose our colour and not just have black!

A zip up hoodie someone mentioned earlier would also be fantastic!

Thanks Fi! The bike has dried out but only time will tell. The kelly chain is going flat out right now and I have knocked off from sewing. I can hear a two legged mouse getting into the milo but the baby is fed and I am too tired to get up and evict it back to bed!

The pants have their waistbands pinned on and there is so far just one top cut…[Read more]

Heidi, there was damage but not structural – and Murray lost his motorbike in the creek (which looks more like a river at the moment).

But it didn’t deter me from sewing because the Puppet show set is complete (if you don’t count the elastic in the shorts) and the sunbonnet looks so cute with it.

The Teaparty dress is still awaiting…[Read more]

54mm at the house and still raining. No damage at the buildings but Murray has gone for a muddy bike ride to inspect what further fences and floodgates are down. Very windy but we still have power which I made the most of while Chloe was asleep and worked on hemming the tunic.

So today we have perfect sewing weather and we are going to make the…[Read more]

Gosh! I think I need one handed typing lessons from the looks of the last post.

Making tracks with the tunic and also working on a matching bonnet. I like the brim folded back look on the purl soho bonnet.

I am hoping to get the majority done before this cyclone hits us (yes aparently it is coming this far south!) and then I could do any…[Read more]

  • I know it is sleeveless but it is simple, have you thought of the badminton dress at all? Otherwise I would go with the family reunion or the Carousel.
