It’s a very fun print you’ve chosen @madtownmama😄 They both look great!

I am still tracing patterns. I got out of bed to feed the baby this morning, thinking it was 5.30am but it was only 2.50am – must’ve had a power failure during the night. Anyway, I got up,mfeeling awake and cut out the traced patterns I had done yesterday so all I have to do…[Read more]

  • It can be very deceptive when the hem of the dress skirt is curved but honestly it will look fantastic once it is done. I have a bubble dress in a border print waiting it’s turn (when the white thread is in the machine again) and I used a border on a recent playdate dress. But the above picture is all you need to persuade you to go for it.

    It…[Read more]

I whipped up a music class skirt in denim during morning nap time the other day. The elastic needs tightening but it looks soooo cute! I do love that pattern alot.

Today its all about tracing the required patterns for skirts, tops, jeans etc. The jalie shirt was a big hit so I am anticipating the arrival of my package of fabric to replenish the…[Read more]

  • @lotuspeachblog I love the colour blocking idea for the top. I was just wondering how you were planning to block the top? There are many ways you coukd do it, given the pieces you have to work with.

I think if you used just the plain fabrics up the top and the floral for the skirt, it would work a treat.

Colour blocking can work your figure to…[Read more]

We have just returned from a quick trip to the city for yet another review of Murray’s injuries. Good news!! We are now down to three monthly visits and the humerous is healing up which means we can step up the physio and he can work with it a little more.

Not so good news was that his movement hasn’t really improved a huge deal and he has been…[Read more]

@markjebobarrhotmail-com aren’t they fabulous?! It is such a nice surprise to have not one but two choices also. Are you planning to use both styles or just one? I have both on my list as I can see these being very well used.

@dubhels2003 Thankyou! She is very “into” what I do and very much a helper. I will eventually make the blouse. I have cut a denim music class skirt which I intend to sew along with a pair of afterschool pants (also denim) and a button up skirt and pair of jeans for my eldest. The shirt will come after as I am spending much of the holidays sorting…[Read more]

I didn’t trace the skirt pattern in the end but I did finish two field trip t shirts. I left the pockets off for these ones and used the coverstitch machine around the neckline just to try it out. The result gives them more of a pullover type look. They are the perfect size so no need to size up just yet.

Next project will be the button up skirt.

Finally got started with the t shirts today after a few non sewing days. I completely mucked up the neckline of the first Jalie raglan t shirt. I do not like the instructions for the binding at. all! Instead for the second one I did it the normal way and gained a much better result. It’s actually wearable and everything is approved by the…[Read more]

I would measure your arm from shoulder point to the widest part of your upper arm and then measure to the pattern to see if this corresponds and then do the same from the widest part down to the elbow and then again from elbow to wrist. This will give you a good indication of where you are shorter on your arm and where you need to shorten the…[Read more]
