I now acknowledge that sewing an Ice Cream dress in a lurex/muslin fabric, as sheer as cobwebs, was possibly not the best idea on a disturbed nights sleep.
I will also be content without the ‘V’ on the pockets and neckline and acknowledge that pockets #2 (that replaced the pockets #1 my machine ate) are still very sweet and Tildy will not notice.
Sigh…. -

Funny, I think of myself as a great sleeper, even though I wake several times a night, every night (and think this is why I remember so many dreams). I think what I’m doing that makes me think I’m a good sleeper is that I stay very relaxed and drowsy. Alcohol knocks me out but it’s awful, unrefreshing sleep. Interesting what kind of sleep feels…[Read more]

Thanks Ladies!
I will have a play after Christmas.
I pretty much live in linen tunics but I don’t like ‘tent-like’ tops. Too dangerous cooking if nothing else.
I liked the way it gave fullness from the bust down. -

Oh no Sarvi, what a pain!
(And I can vouch for your excellent present giving skills)My baby is growing too fast, I just lay her on my bed after changing her and she rolled over and pushed herself up on her hands, in a bulky cloth nappy!
My others have all been ‘late’ babies. Late to roll, crawl or walk. I really hope she is not the exception…..

Wow, @scgoble, that must be tough. I must admit I am not good at getting to bed. I rarely go to bed before 11pm and I am often up at 6am but I do grab a 10 minute Nana nap whenever I can.
I envy those that go to bed and fall asleep quickly, it takes me at least an hour.

I’ve gotten so that I really dread patterns not from the small group of ones with instructions I know I can trust. I’d rather alter (even significantly) a reliable pattern.
The clock is ticking on Christmas sewing over here too — sounds like many folks are in the same boat. I’ve got a set of handkerchiefs 100% finished. 2 Lullaby pants, a…[Read more]

Which pyjama or pajama (hello search engine!) pants are your favorites? I really like the cuff on Sleepover but feel like they use more fabric. Is this an optical illusion caused by the single pattern piece? Or is it a roomier cut?
Has anybody paired the Bedtime bottoms with the SLeepover top?

Another vote for a clock. The ones my girls have is called the Tot Clock and it is entirely too expensive but desperate, sleep-deprived parents will pay anything, right? My oldest girl did not start sleeping through the night routinely until she was nearly 4 and like you, we tried a lot of things. I did the “Mama is too tired” routine when she…[Read more]

Very Heath Robinson of me, but I would lay the Music Class front yoke over the Sleepover front. I would place tracing paper over that then re-draft the front with the centre front of then new pattern piece finishing the same width as the Sleepover.
Then I would re-draft the neck of the front facing to match the new neck line, but attach the…[Read more] - Load More
