On changing threads, I have changed projects to a pink floral and linen tea party dress. I have knickers to sew and the ensemble can move into the handstitching basket.
Tomorrow I will continue with the puppet show shorts so they can join the stitching basket too.

I’m sure it would be divine.
I would work out how many and approximately how deep I wanted the pleats to be, then calculate the skirt width from that to check against the original skirt and see if the “fullness” is similar.
More maths but quite fun I you’re into it. Or you can play with basting as Nicole said.
There will be a blog post soon about…[Read more] -

Fiber Club! 10 years agoA month’s worth of weekends (including some days of 40C in Adelaide) has seen me finish 3 quilt tops. The must do content were a tablecloth/lap quilt, and a single bed quilt for my aunt/godmother who turn 88 in May. I’ve made many quilts during the last 10-15 years, but haven’t worked on any for a year. So I’m very pleased to have these projects…[Read more]

I went to my local and there was no discount apparent, no sale signage — maybe it varies by location?

I can sympathise Sarvi because funnily enough I had the very same thought last Friday. Fortunately we can just stay home this Sunday instead and have a week’s entension. It is a very crazy thought especially in this household right now!

Do you ever look at the clock, and it’s Friday at 3:30, and you still need to make dinner etc., and think to yourself that it’d be a fine and sensible idea to trace and start cutting out three new things with the idea that they’d be worn Sunday afternoon? Yeah, that’s not the greatest idea.

50 degrees is what get at night in winter but never ever during the day – we are too far north for such temps. It sounds as though there are plenty of ideas. Hope you find the perfect solution.

I have two pairs of puppet show shows cut and ready to sew. One is to pair with an angel top I am still working on and the other is a linen pair I didnt manage to get to before Christmas. I plan to make a tunic to go with it.
