Agree with the above! Wear for a long time with leggings. My daughter’s nearly 6 and her size 4s still fit, they’re just too short to wear without something underneath.

Separate machines would mean being able to use the other if one of them needs repairs. Having a combo means having to replace the whole thing if it went dicky.

Progress is slow Fiona due to a multitude of things. Life always seems to get busier when I decide to do something like enter the local show!
I have cut the pieces and interfaced the parts to be pleated. I have chosen the design and have the threads ready to go. I have coffee dyed the lace edging but not the entredeux.
It will be completed by…[Read more]

Ta, Heidi. Sounds like it’s worth taking the risk. All the recent babies that I might sew for in the future, are boys – gorgeous bunnies. So, need to get shot of the TParty. Dying to give it a go as so many of the beauties I’ve seen in Flickr are so enticing.

Just finished my first two Class Picnic tops (sizes 2, and 5), and another Butterfly skirt. CP’s more fiddly than I thought -especially hemming the sleeves – I had to tack them right close to fold so that I could machine sew. I think the wider hem (1 1/2″) inhibits getting in there when it’s pinned. Good news is tacking gives good guide for sewing…[Read more]

I’ve made one all in knit @mama_knowles it worked well. My collar topstitching wasn’t the neatest 🙂 but it’s ok.
It’s being worn right now and I’ll try and get it photographed today to go on my blog…. -

So I will ask dumb questions like this: can’t you just use a twin needle on a regular machine? Does this do something special???
What is the benefit on a separate machine?
Educate me, ladies!! Give me a reason to get another machine! 😉

Ladies, from your many and varied experiences, how long does the T-party dress fit? I realise that’s a lot like “how long is a piece of string?” I cut out an 18-24mths T-party dress in linen which I didn’t get to in time for the intended child but I have a ‘just-turned’ 2 yrs old that I can make it up for so that she can wear for the last month…[Read more]
