Back when I was younger/perter/leaner I would have foregone the underwear and worn these styles. Nowadays I’d limit it to gym wear or swimmers (racer back) or lingerie or black tie (spaghetti straps). I can’t deal with visible bra straps, and can’t be bothered with strapless bras for everyday wear 😣

Liesl, would it be pretty simple to change the width of the spaghetti strap? Feels like an easy modification.
Racer backs are great for working out. Easy to wear with a sports bra.

My girls and I love racer back tops. We work out and have nice shoulders and want to show them.
I don’t find visible bra straps a problem and younger women don’t mind at all.
Spaghetti straps are very pretty too. I wouldn’t wear them to sit in the sun all day but otherwise, very cool and comfortable.

Yeah, it’s difficult to write a pattern that includes instructions for people with and without a serger. I guess the good news is that you can always draw in a smaller seam allowance if you know you’re going to use the serger/overlock/etc. I’m glad you like the result!

Just finished View C for B6295 last night – it’s only my 2nd sew for myself. I like the pants, a lot, but oof. I’m guessing that since this is one of the Butterick patterns, there isn’t a lot of flexibility on things like seam allowance size and where it’s added, but I got SO FRUSTRATED every time I had to cut off the entire (gigantic!!) seam…[Read more]

Am making a muslin for the Gallery tunic. After completing the full bust adjustment, am having difficulty with the sleeves pulling in the front and buckling in the back. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have just finished first pair of shortie PJ’s with your Butterick pattern. What type of interfacing do you recommend? Knit, lightweight woven, or lightweight nonwoven? I used Shape Flex and it seems a little stiff.

Photo 7 instructions. Let me know if these worked for you. I am making one right now in a demon linen. Seems a little tight in the bust so letting that out.
Love liesls patterns!

JoAnns has their Butterick patterns on sale 3 for $5 starting today through Sunday (March 31 – April 3). I bought the last four Lisette new releases all for under $2 each. Maybe one day I will have some time to make some pajamas that actually fit!

Hi Mimi,
Wow, I think that pattern has been out of print for a while now! Glad you found a copy.
I would suggest contacting Simplicity directly for the missing elements. They produced the pattern and will be able to tell you what to do or where to get what you need. Have fun with it!

I was so excited to find the Diplomat dress pattern 1878 at my local Joann’s. Unfortunately when I was ready to start my project I discovered the instructions were missing and to make matters worse they had no more patterns in stock. (Argh!)
Any ideas on how I can get them.
