I finished a pair of Named Alexandrina Peg trousers, for Zara, in velvet backed apparel vinyl. It stretched, it slipped but the finished garment has produced far more joy then is decent for an item of clothing.

I just clicked on the link through the Oliver and s site and immediately it came up with saying it lost the server. It took me ten minutes to post one message last night because it kept coming up saying error! Yes I have had it seize on me also. Its been happening for a while now.

Oh @dubhels2003 that made me snort laugh!
But I’ve actually wondered about that; what does one do when the iron on interfacing is scrunched?

Well as luck would have it, I placed a carpet rug under the sewing table and an old cot blanket under the machines and I think it has done the trick. Yes sewing has been attempted but not exactly carried out at this end too! Today however, I managed to sew the side seams on both the family reunion dress and puppet show dress. I am hoping to finish both of them over the weekend.

I need to try other knits. Unfortunately, even though the prints are wonderful, I was just not a fan of the interlock. I am having another go with the top though, this time using a tried and true knit I have in the stash and will go with white and a coloured collar. They will be short sleeved as the heat is turning up.

One more week? Can’t wait!

Yes I agree Kerrilyn, rethreading in the correct order helps as I have experienced this. Jumping thread out of the loopers I have also experienced and the only way to fix this (in my experience) was to rethread in order.

Yes I agree Kerrilyn, rethreading in the correct order helps as I have experienced this. Jumping thread out of the loopers I have also experienced and the only way to fix this (in my experience) was to rethread in order.

I was using city weekend interlock and the cotton of the same design (pink spots). Unfortunately interlock and I do not get on and the machine thought it would be nice as lunch when doing a buttonhole! I think I will just use up the rest of the interlock (of which there is quite a bit) as leggings or something.

May I ask, what have you tried and what has been recommended to you by the repair person?

I have a Janome and I know that even though mine doesn’t pop, when the machine has come undone somewhere in the threading, it won’t chain well. Sometimes it kicks itself out of a hook somewhere and you wonder how the heck it happens but then I just have to…[Read more]

Shouldn’t be long now. It is usually around mid September to mid October.
