Hehe! I sincerely wish it could happen but baby girl will kick it something silly due to the weight. It is a hilariously funny image to have isn’t it? I don’t know anyone who has ever taken their sewing machine to hospital with them – but if it were allowed it would also be an option. I could drown out the noise of other crying babies and lull…[Read more]

Two pairs of layette pants sewn – check!

They were really quick to put together. I might get to make a few more but next, I plan to cut and sew a couple of bubble dresses and a puppet show set.

@Kerrilyn, that was before I was blogging, but thank you!

  • I bought mine from O+S, sorry Kerrilyn.

  • Ok I am a bit clueless, what are KAM snaps? I don’t actually use the ones from Liesl because I had bought some already before she stocked them. Mine are from Greenbeans but I have just jumped onto their site to link it and I think I might have the KAM ones you mention as this is what they state they have.

I don’t know the difference really but do…[Read more]

I want to sew something for men
But my husband is seven foot ten

You could even do the welt pockets under the flap and topstitch the outline so that it looks fake but is actually real. The downside is that the lovely welt pockets aren’t seen. But it certainly is an idea to include proper ones.

  • I am so glad Melanie helped you, she is so clever at this sort of thing.
Just a thought, my girls are older still, 15, but Empire line is very fashionable for their age group.
I actually hunted down a Laura Ashley pattern that has a similar feel to the Garden Party as they both loved the look.

Darling Jay! A move can be very overwhelming at the best of times. Hang in there. Soon you will be able to get the sewing things out and get going again. Just take the time to be in the moment with your friends and loved ones and I sincerely hope everything goes very well for the packing part so you and the girls can take off and fly to your…[Read more]

The Birthday Party facing is a clever ‘wrap around it self’ type facing so you would need to be aware of that.

  • Me too!

I even edge stitch the 2+2 skirt pleats.

I have just finished the hems of three lullaby layette shirts. Just have to apply poppers and then take photos.

Next is… Whatever I pick out of the tray. Probably some very cute looking linen layette pants.

If I get the date we want, it mean there will be four weeks to go.

Just got home… Sorry the shorts aren’t behaving Heidi. I haven’t tried the colette patterns yet even though I have some – not the shorts though so sorry I am not of use there.

I’m thrilled! I popped into the new/ replacement craft shop in Geraldton and discovered they sell Rasant thread! That means I don’t have to get them from Perth! And they…[Read more]
