Chloe’s going through another growth phase and isn’t sleeping too brilliantly. So as a result my sewing time is suffering slightly.
I have managed to use the overlocker to finish the edges of the Teaparty dress and the carousel dress I have cut out – both pink. The aim is to pleat the carousel and sit and do some smocking and embroidery either…[Read more]

Ok, my husband is home so I handed the baby to him (she is going through a non sleeping phase). Ok I have the instructions out and am looking at the diagram you uploaded.
The dotted line indicates the centre box pleat. So what you need to do is have the fabric folded and stitch down the dotted line to form to centre pleat. Then with the side…[Read more]

The Kaffe Fassett shot cottons make lovely play shirts. They only need the lightest of ironing once made up.

If you are finding it hard to get a nice turn, try basting a turning guide with a long stitch (#4). This will no only give you an accurate fold line but will gently ease the fabric.
If it is not enough ease, you can gather the stitches, just a bee’s whisker. -

I was just catchin up and found your many posts. Let me put my baby down for a nap and then I can get the instructions out to help you ok?
I am actually looking to trace out this pattern in the 6-12 month size so hopefully I can walk you through together with completing it at the same time.
Will be back in a little while to talk you through ok?

@Emily without talking about your son’s “down there” bits I can’t imagine a 3 year old boy needs any different crotch rise from a girl of the same age!
I made some here; https://www.flickr.com/photos/79480359@N03/8668350104/in/dateposted-public/ for my son when he was 4. No adjustments and they fit very well. -

What a sweet surprise, Tamara. I woke up to a vase of tulips and a card from my husband on my bedside table. When I came downstairs the kids presented me with handmade cards. It is a busy day filled with commitments so I probably won’t get much sewing time until the evening. I told my husband he can give me a raincheck 🙂

And now we’ve sewn 7! You can see the Hopscotch Skirt Pattern on our blog here. Let us just warn you, we got a little creative and changed up a few things. How did your hopscotch go @justsewit? Hopefully everyone took advantage of that Fat Quarter Shop discount code (hurry if you didn’t there’s only until May 11th!) and are armed with fabric…[Read more]

I am really looking forward to seeing that tee, Shelley!
I couldn’t sleep last night so I ran back downstairs to make myself a nursing sleep tank. That brings my count to two sleep bras, two nighties and a tank. I think I’m probably set for nursing sleepwear now …
