The tube idea is great, thank you. I’m gonna try it for my next project with this pattern.

Ok, you’re looking for more like a funnel neck. You could measure the neck and cut a tube/rectangle to be the same length as the neckline. That’s where I’d start.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean. Does our Liesl + Co Neighborhood Hoodie help?

I would love to be able to make a high neck hoodie, so that the hood closes up higher (like a small collar), using the Lisette for Butterick B6386 sewing pattern. Any advice on how to do that?
I already tried something on a pull-over hoodie and it turned out so badly I had to completely redo the hood and give up the idea. It simply didn’t work…[Read more]

I’m glad you enjoyed it! Can you post some photos for us? That might help. If it’s easier, you can ask for advice at the Liesl + Co Friends Facebook group, too. More people are active there these days.

Hello! I did the Afternoon Tea Blouse sew-along and it was such a great experience! Between the sew-along tips and the wonderful pattern instructions, I had fun making my most challenging pattern to date and my “wearable muslin” turned out great!
Except – it’s snug, no, *tight* right across the stripes. I believe I made the correct size…[Read more]

Those trousers were purchased for the shoot, but if you can hold on a few more weeks we might have something in the fall lineup that appeals to you…

Question: What pants are shown on the cover of the Classic Shirt paper pattern? I’m looking for a slacks pattern that is comfortable, easy to sew and somewhat fitted, but looser than leggings, with side pockets, and suitable for a woven fabric or woven with a bit of stretch. Any recommendations? I just made a test muslim of the Carrie Trousers…[Read more]

Help! I need some advice. I want to sew the jacket in Lisette B6169, but I’m having trouble finding fabric I like. I’m hoping for a botanical print on a light background in either twill or denim, but can’t find one. The closest I’ve found is some upholstery fabric at fabric.com, which is a medium weight 100% cotton. However, it is dry clean only,…[Read more]
