A skirt and some pants
To wear to a dance
A a new dress – perhaps Roller Skate!I “thrifted” an old orange chair

Two of my younger siblings got engaged over the holidays and are planning fall weddings – my four children and my niece and nephew will be in the weddings. I will be sewing two sets of three flower girls’ dresses and hopefully just the one set of three Art Museum ensembles that the boys will wear for both. My sister and I chose a light gray cotton…[Read more]

@with-love-heidi Yes!

Hi @sallycsklarsky, I have been mulling this over for a few days now.
May I point out my tute https://www.pinterest.com/pin/73676143876173067/ ? Have a look at that and I will come back and add how I think a lining may work.
Sorry not to be more help.

Have a look at Titchy Threads patterns. The Small Fry skinny jeans should tick all your boxes.
I haven’t made them up, but I have made the Twisted Trousers which have pocket with pocket bag coin pocket etc and excellent instructions. I made them in denim and they’ve been great looking jeans.
Based on that pattern, I’m sure the jeans pattern could…[Read more] -

I’d opt for an Ottobre design pattern of you aren’t turned off by tracing and adding seam allowance. They have lots of options in lots of sizes and are well drafted.

What an interesting topic — now I want to go look for denim! I wonder if I can find anything locally.

@dubhels2003 , did you buy some after your meeting?
I just purchased some black coated denim (not from there, I wish) and I am itching for it to be my turn on the #sewingrota.

I am so pleased Shelley. I have made that size before and it worked so I assumed your fabric must have stretched.
I just need to sew the button hole on Elsa’s blazer and it is done!
Next, a pair of navy Deer and Doe shorts for school.

For the record: If you accidentally trace the size 10 waistband and facing, don’t try and attach it to the size 5 shorts. Doh.
Stuff up resolved. -

Funny this thread should pop up again. I got some funny looks over buying what the gal at the shop thought was way too much yardage for a small project — but it had a directional print, and I was making the pattern for the first time. I managed to make SO many mistakes — from tracing the wrong grain line (so I had the print running sideways), to…[Read more]
