Have you tried a Jump rope, they look sweet on babies, just check your head size !

I am cutting out the puppet show pattern tonight in size 2 and hopefully fabric tomorrow night – haven’t yet chosen fabric and am very torn between the lovely single fabric versions and the great contrasty ones… so tough. I think I will make a tunic and shorts first and then a dress… Maybe a single colour tunic and a two colour dress?

I quite like the dress in a block colour and the blouse in two colour with plain shorts, I don’t know why, I just do …..

hmm yes – I know what you mean – that red dress version was so lovely. I’m sold – now I just have to choose fabrics.. fun!

Isn’t the Jump Rope a 3-scissor? Maybe it would be fun to try something hard, especially since right now I’m not sewing for an event or gift, just for fun/practice/learning.

Yes, the Jump Rope is a 3 scissor. And, I’m feeling the same, wanting to try something a little more challenging since I’ve finished up gifts for a while. Traced my pieces the other night; still deciding on fabric.

Ditto on the red Puppet Show!!

Just got an email about this new line. Gracious, new patterns, new fabrics…So fun!

Sorry , I did not check the scissor rating on the pattern , I thought it was a two.

The patterns are all quite achievable if you take your time and follow the instructions.

The placket on the jumprope dress is very well explained, just be accurate with your cutting and transfer all your markings.

Sorry again for my oversight …

Oh, Mel that fabric is beautiful, perfect for a Jumprope !

I found the 12-18 mnths snug on Little One, just thought I would mention that….

Not an oversight at all, but a great suggestion — this is the perfect time to attempt a challenge, when the stakes are low and I don’t have to worry about handing over a dodgy gift.

Thanks for the heads up, Nicole! I was reading over the instructions again last night and decided to check the sizing chart (I’d drafted the 18-24M thankfully), and thought it was a slimer fitting dress than the Ice Cream. I think her age size will be just right in this one…wondering about the length though. I’m making View B first however and think that one, if a little short, will look great over tights. Then I will know to lengthen when I make View A.

The Niblet has been very restless and tiring me out this week. Looking forward to the weekend and nap time sewing!:)

Hi Mel, I know you have drafted already , but I would consider going up a size.

I am going to skip 18-24 mnths and make the 2 for Little One.

Must be a time for restless babies, its half past midnight and I am still up feeding!

Just have the cuffs, button holes and buttons to go and I have finished the Twins Music class blouse’s.

One has sewn smoothly , the other I marked the pin tucks on the wrong side, interfaced incorrectly and have managed to get grease on the collar from I do not know where!

I showed it to the girls in despair , Twin 1 immediately said that she would have that one as she always get grotty any way ( which is true…)

Gosh ,I love my girls !

Next up is a couple of Icecream dresses, one in a pretty, abstract print as a blouse and the other in charcoal wool flannel as a tunic to wear over their Music class blouses with their Sketch book jeans.

I need to finish them by next weekend as they are traveling to the City , for a Netball trip , to go Ice skating.

I would love to make them a new School days coat each, but I think that might be pushing it ………

I’m going to try and go for it with the curriculum . . . I’m going to do tea party, followed by puppet show, followed by (gulp) birthday party. I’m planning all of those for autumn winter to wear with long sleeve t shirts, cardigans and tights. Oh and I’m on the look out for dove grey velour for sail boat trousers!
