Hi Hello “waving like mad” My real name is Tamara.

I am half way finished with the first Nature Walk Top and have just got to attach the sleeves, do hems and sew the collar lining and then onto the next one.

I won’t be doing much this morning though as the cupboard is bare so have to stock up on food – that is what happens when you don’t go near the place for weeks and weeks I guess lol and I vowed and declared I wasn’t moving from the house but this would be unbearable if I had hungry children so we have to switch to plan B – get food!

I’m hoping to finish the first top this afternoon and start on the next tonight.

My patterns did arrive yesterday. Funny how the tracking service was telling me it was going in and out of customs three times in a week – maybe the patterns are popular in customs? Never thought you could drum up business that way lol. Fortunately they decided I could finally have them. Can’t wait to get started on them but I have to finish other things first and slip in a FR dress for the sew along next week.

Have a great long weekend to the Aussie ladies in the east!

Hello Everyone! Not as much sewing here as I would have liked in the past few weeks. With summer underway I’ve just been plain busy. With that comes a bit of a slack off on my housework so clean laundry tends to pile up in my little sewing corner in the bedroom. My garden is doing well, each year I learn a little more and it does a little better. I do need to get moving on some things for my girls. If you look in their closet it looks like they have plenty of clothes but my oldest has all tops and no bottoms and my youngest has all bottoms and no tops! Too bad they’re too far apart to share. So…. some skirts, tops, and sundresses are in order. I also just got the Music Box Jumper, Nature Walk, and Sunday Brunch patterns that I’m itching to get to but they’re intended for fall so I think I’ll just wait on those. I’m off to check out he Lisette site and see what up!

Homefire, summer for you and winter for me – busy busy busy! Hope you get the time to sew the tops and bottoms for the little ones (frustrating when this happens).

We had a day of it yesterday with dh breaking down on the way to get parts and me chasing after him with kids in tow and no sign all day but did get shopping done including some fabric for the sew along which could possibly double as a “different” Minnie Mouse costume if I get onto it in time. Miss 8 got into the finals for her speech competition at school and of course she spoke about her beloved dress ups. I promised a new costume if she got to the finals so she has chosen Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I’ll use the Music box dress and the Music Class shirt for that in the masses of gingham sitting there. So the NW top will be finished – just the hems to go and I’ll hand sew the collar lining tonight but after the hems it has to be onto this costume which is required by Thursday. Hopefully it won’t take three days to make such simple items and hopefully I can finish the other three NW tops within the week.

Anyway, I’ll take the chance while I have it. Happy sewing everyone.

I finished the dress and I really enjoyed sewing one garment!

Now I am sewing a size 12-18 mmnth 2+2 skirt in red peach skin drill,I am stitching all the pleats in,front and back,to give it that ‘french school girl’ look.

Yippee! I’m up to buttons and handsewing on the Dorothy costume (used the MC shirt and the Music Box dress) and I helped out a friend who has to dress her daughter as an “old lady turtle”. I was imagining that puppet from the children’s show “Between the Lions” with the pearls and the gold chain on the glasses etc. We will be teaming all that up with a walking stick lol – she will look FABULOUS! That is for the class item on Thursday – so looking forward to it.

I should have gone into set and prop design or something it is so much fun!

I’m going to now cut out the Family Reunion dress and participate in the sew along. And this afternoon I’m getting the children to have a tinker on their little sewing machine and make some new bean bag covers for the school as I don’t think I can manage sitting there night after night sewing up little tiny holes in the already worn out fabric – great way to use up the many corduroy scraps that are now left over.

I was just at the Flickr group to post my latest pictures and was really struck by all the loveliness. Have you seen the white silk bubble dress? Delicious! And the pink floral picnic blouse? I believe it’s some kind of lawn or voile. And a simply darling striped Jumprope dress.

So inspiring, I wish I could sew all day long sometimes, but I’ve got to go wake the kids and drag them to the ped. blah.

We are so very blessed to have the opportunity to see all these wonderful finished products that everyone has made. I mean you have to agree that these patterns are just too gorgeous to pass up. I love how everyone adds their own personality to the projects – you almost get to know who made them just by looking at the garment itself.

I’ve finished the “Dorothy” costume and managed a whole day of sewing the Family Reunion dress so that is just in need of buttons and a few loose ends tied. I was going to use this as back up but miss 8 is thrilled with the Dorothy costume so no need to make Minnie ears aswell.

The things we do as parents! Anyone would think it was me doing the speech!

I’m looking forward to tomorrow as it means that I can gain some sewing sanity again and finally get those NW tops sewn. I haven’t cut anything else out so I will just focus on them and then do pj’s and start on the boy’s Sketch book shirts. We have a few milestone birthdays coming up so he will need something decent to wear out to dinner etc.

I can’t believe it is Thursday tomorrow. Where did the week go?

I agree! The days fly by.

I finished sewing two Tea Party Doll’s dresses for the girls last night, they need snaps/buttons though.

My husband is away until late tomorrow so in theory I could spend all evening sewing, but there is house work to do that he normally does plus I’m behind on laundry – again, so .. I hope to get started on a pair of Class Picnic Shorts to match the pink flowery Class Picnic Blouse I made (Thank you for your nice comments on that one Meleliza). They are cut out and I just need to rethread my machine and get started.

I have a want-to-do list a mile long so I guess I’ll pick something off that. Ice Cream Dress for Sofia or the coat I planned to make for Isabel … Gah! So much to chose from.

Lattemama, we should have a laundry party! Beautiful weather + small house + 3 kids ages 6,4, and 2 = a LOT of time outside. I do get a lot of cutting, planning, and hand sewing done outside but housework does suffer through the summer. We’re having some crazy thunderstorms today and tomorrow so I think I’ll get caught up.

DH is on duty tomorrow so I should get some projects done tomorrow night. It funny, when he first became a firefighter I was stressed out and lonely but now I’m all about it: duty days means SEWING TIME!!! This past week I was able to get a mc and a hs skirt finished up for odd. I think she needs one more casual skirt and 2 sundresses to get her though summer. I need to sort through my knits and see what I have for ydd to make a batch of hp tops and then I think we’ll be set.

    Have fun today Ladies!

2+2 Blouse’s,7 of them,I would love to sew 2 at a time…but I know it is far more productive to multi task.

I really need to get that 2 + 2 pattern. I don’t why I didn’t get it before (addled brain from sleep deprivation maybe?) It certainly is gorgeous just a pity my dd won’t fit into it anymore – oh well!

Speech comp over and am grinning from ear to ear “She won! she won!” by a whole point! The costume served her in good stead and thank God I didn’t go making her anything else because it is definitely time to get cracking on other things.

I will stick a load of washing on and sew and then hang out and sew etc – too far away for anyone to come and have a laundry party – would be wonderful for it to happen though – it would make the menial chores much more fun to do.

Fine weather at the moment so no excuse to load up both washing lines with things.

I can’t wait for this modem to arrive so that I can actually download photos and build up the flickr library. Have to wait I’m afraid as everything is on that computer. Hurry up Telstra!!!

I might celebrate with some small online purchases – oop patterns that need to build up the collection.

So today it’s NW top number one and two and button holes on the Family Reunion dress. Four hours will go fast with that lot I’m sure.

One Nature walk top size 12 finished – will use different fabric next time as there isn’t much room to get into it. One one looks fine – arms a bit long but not by much.

Now two more for the boy this time.
