    Missed you S I T H C!

    Welcome back!

Missy M had a huge 3 hour sleep so I was able to make some Sketch Book ‘jeans’ for her sister to wear with her new shirt for casual day tomorrow!

I spent last night mending my jeans that was worn in the inside of the thighs. Exciting!

Tonight I have big plans for tracing though. I’m starting out with the Family Reunion dress and we’ll see how far I get. Ideally I would like to trace all the new patters, and I want to trace the Nature Walk shirt for the girls as well.

Isabel had a hooded shirt when she was a baby that reminds me of the body of the Nature Walk so I’m thinking about merging the shirt with the hood from the Red Riding Cape or the School Days Coat. I just have to measure the neckline and see if I can make it work.

    Wish me luck!

    Good luck Lotta!!!

Have you posted the shirt, Nicole??? Haven’t seen it – will go and check again!

I’m plugging away at my list (http://justmejay.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html) and am making progress. In the middle of some sandbox pants for Will – have another 2 pairs cut out (Harry and Lucy) and a pair of Nature Walk pants for Rosie. Also have done all my drafting for my Winter sewing, and have cut out 2 Jump Ropes – view B

I’ve got three hopscotch tops that need hemming, two swing set skirts that need hemming, two sketchbook shirts that need hemming and buttons. Anyone see a pattern here?

    Not at all, Johanna!

Well, I didn’t get around to tracing anything yesterday but I did cut out two Hopscotch dresses for the girls to wear as nightgowns. I had hoped to stretch one of the fabrics to two tops but I couldn’t make it fit so dress it was.

I get off work early today (noon) so I have high hopes for today, but we have some shopping to get done first and then I need to cook – we do still have to eat, why is that?

And suddenly the Sketchbook shorts/jeans sailed up the list of my Want To Do-list. Not good. (Kidding – it’s all good)

Thanks, Nicole! It’s nice to be back. My little 2 yr old girl is cracking me up. We looked through “Little Things” and she pointed at EVERYTHING and said, “Make this for me, Mommy,” except the bento box which I’d already started. She just stared at it. Hah! When I give it to her this morning, I’ll tell her it’s a purse.

Well, I had big plans for tonght until I remembered I had been invited to a friend who has just gotten a new job for sushi and champagne. So no sewing for me. I feel like I say this every day, but for sure tomorrow.

I started on a Hopscotch dress for Isabel but didn’t have time to finish. I also poked a needle into my cuticle on th thumb and it beld a ot and hurt like anything, so I decided to put it on hold.

ETA: This iPad is hard to write on. I seem to miss a lot of letters …

I finished my boys’ two raincoats last week and have sprung into cutting fabrics for my very first playdate dress – so exciting! I was also recently given some fairyfloss pink 50% wool 50% poly/lurex coating that a friend in the trade had sent back from Alannah Hill (Australian designer) as water stained in one or two spots. It is so hilariously great I immediately cut some of it up for another school photo dress – it will no doubt look like a costume from an Austin Powers movie!!! Winter is coming on here so a good solid wool fairyfloss pink frock will no doubt come in handy… Unfortunately I have a few matters in court coming up which will no doubt steal my sewing time – bah!

Oh, I’d love to see the raincoats, T888!

I’ve had a fairly good weekend of sewing – finished Will’s Sandbox pants (except he didn’t like them so now they are Harry’s!) & made a pair of Nature Walk pants for Rosie. Have also cut out another pair of pants for Will (he’s gonna have to like these ones!) and a Hopscotch dress each for the girlies 🙂
