Tamara, I got it from the specials rack in the upholstery section of Spotlight. But I noticed that they garment section, at least in our spotlight, has fake leathers and seudes that I have been eyeing off for messenger bags and because they are 150cm wide you will need less.
Nicole, a tiny seashore would be so cute 🙂

Ok will check out the upholstery section of Spotlight next time I am there.
I often envy the fortunate who are still able to use the wee tiny sizes of there patterns for children other than their own. I was thinking of just making the smaller sizes in the patterns for the sheer sake of it.
Ok Having lunch and feeding everyone then I am going to fix up that muslin!

I was just clearing away a few things including a pair of size 14 (eek!) stubbies school shorts for Noah and whilst looking them over I thought about how I can copy. Picture this gals, sketchbook front with Art museum pockets and art museum back. Would it work d’ya think?
Oh and why do we need “sun smart” shorts anyway? They are inside for much of the time!

Measured boys for sleepover pjs. Philip has grown two full inches since I made him that summer pair. But his chest waist and hips are the same! Charlie has grown a bit too, but he’s got plenty of room in the body. So I can stick with the sizes I traced off in June and add a few inches in length. Skipping pockets and separate cuffs. I might make a built in cuff. Think I can finish them over the weekend? Oh, and their baby dolls need pjs too, I’m told, so I drafted a sort of one piece pattern for that too. I’m such a sucker.

OK I am should be sewing up Caspian’s shirt and Jacob’s pants but I am very tired, very, very tired. Oh yah I need, need to make pj’s for my nephew still. All the other ones are getting theirs after the holidays. Any tips on how to get more energy for sewing time???

My kids are strangely exicted about the whole matching pj thing, so of course I have to push through and finish them. I have only the sleeves to set in K’s nightgown and I cut all the pieces of both boys’ sleepover pjs. Plus, sucker that I am, I drafted and cut a nightgown for K’s baby and pjs for the boys’ babies. Good grief. But the pjs are easy at least. I’m confident I can bang most of that out after church tomorrow.
I was a little slow today. The weather is crazy crazy warm here! It’s actually supposed to hit 70 tomorrow, but we’re getting snow on Tuesday. What’s up with that? It was really hard to be in the holiday spirit feeling so warm. In fact, we skipped going back to the Christmas market. What’s the point of mulled wine when it’s like spring outside? I prefer Jack Frost nipping at my nose.
Catherine will recieve this for Christmas, a complete surprise: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24264063@N05/11488216493/in/pool-oliverands

Yes! What Heidi said!
Feel better soon dear Heidi!
Meleliza we have had some cool days here so perhaps we swapped? Well it wasn’t exactly wintry conditions. Tomorrow it will be summer again so I have been thankful for the cool spell because I could actually be comfortable and do things.
The christmas outfit plans have gone askew. I am trying to fit in some last minute deep cleaning instead!
I hope to sew Boxing Day!
12 years ago LINKJust finished my first pair of jeans from the Sew Liberated skinny jeans pattern. I had to add considerable length to the back yoke – it was WAY too low. But I am thrilled with how they turned out. I used a very comfortable and very stretchy brown corduroy which I inadvertently cut out upside down; but now they have that velvety look to them which is nice for this time of year.
Next up, a Traveler tunic to go with them!

Great work making your own jeans, Rtwg!
Despite feeling under the weather today I got a lot done! Traced two sizes of sketchbook shorts, 8 and 12, and got the 8 sewn up in yellow! I was going to cut the 12 from knit but have just discovered that all my knit is either too small or needs a wash! I also up sized MIP big basic tee but I don’t have any fabric large enough, so I may make a field trip raglan white with contrast sleeves, I wanted to make the MIP tee as I know it fits well and the boy in question has very square shoulders and I was unsure about the raglan sleeves, but I might just risk it!

Has anyone tried the Jalie jeans pattern at all? I have heard good reports but as yet haven’t bought the pattern. It was one that was recommended on the Craftsy jeans class with Angela Woolf.
You must be so proud to have accomplished your first pair of jeans RTWG!

I am! Yesterday I had 4 plus things I wanted to finish, I am now down to 1 and a half! Including having to scrap one field trip tee this morning due to using old pink knit which tore at the seams when turned right side out 🙁 I am remaking that one now using a different pink knit.
Knit sketchbook shorts – Done!
Yellow sketchbook shorts – Done!
Pink/grey/red field trip tee – In progress
Size 12 tee – To Do
Optional – stuff, hand sew juggling balls, make bag
