Needlewoman, we are working on the same principle here! The family going on holidays next week (all done), things to be posted, and those that can be delivered Christmas morning!

Spent naptime today making a 6-12 mo Art Museum vest for my nephew. All done but the hand-sewing. Need to whip up a pair of pants to match and post by the end of the week. But it will have to wait until I make the bunny tails tonight. Also have to do younger daughter’s Christmas dress by the end of the week as we have our first holiday party on Saturday. I am planning a Bubble and was thinking of using this bright green stretch satin I recently purchased (for myself). But now I am tempted to go back to the original plan of using red corduroy – I think that will be easier to sew than the satin and I honestly need a break from finicky fabrics! I guess I will ask her …

I bet I can guess what fabric she chooses, RTWG! Shiny, every time 🙂

I finished a field trip raglan today, one more gift crossed off! And purchased everything I need to complete the Christmas sewing 🙂

My fabric for Hugo’s fish costume has still not arrived, I am starting to panic.

Luckily I had some scraps from Liddy’s shark suit so I could make the hat. My sister made a special trip to a fabric store yesterday and purchased some more for me and put it in an express parcel post for me.

    Fingers crossed it gets here!

I drafted off the pattern and everything is ready to go.

Meanwhile, I am sewing a new shirt for him to wear to a party Friday night. His childhood friend is turning 17 and bringing home lots of her chums from boarding school.

    He wants to look sharp.

Garrett ask me this weekend if I could make him a new sketchbook shirt for his Christmas program so I have it cut out and ready to sew for today. I would love to make him new pants too but I will see if time allows seeing the program is Tuesday night.

I have his shirt half way done now but all the kiddos are home from school due to a snow day so it has been slow going. I think the two older boys are going to drive me up the wall! But I think it will be done by tonight.

Today I have to make time to stitch a gift for the piano teacher – just something simple like stitched c major scale or a treble clef sign to be mounted under a see through paper weight. Sounds complicated I know but it isn’t I don’t think.

Apparently I have to turn my son into a tractor for his presentation night item next Wednesday night. I also have like two days to make a couple of casual outfits for miss Imogen to strut her stuff in with the many social gathering that are about to take place.

And I wouldn’t mind something new to wear myself to the parent helper’s morning tea.

    No pressure mum!

I am working on a self drafted garment bag, it’s coming along well but after this and helping my niece to work out how to construct a Burda duffel bag (super poor instructions, but the bag looks great).

I will be very glad that my next two projects are Oliver and S messenger bags that I don’t have to think about how to put together, I can just follow the instructions!

My sister came through and 4 metres of aquamarine stretchy lurex arrived in the mail, is washed, and drying on the line.

I hope I don’t cause any light planes to come down with the sun dazzle.

I have the plackets and collar finished on Hugo’s shirt. Charcoal stretch poplin, very snappy.

Good to hear that the fabric came, Nicole! And Hugo’s shirt sounds like just the right amount of smart 🙂 Hope he enjoys the party!

I just spent a lovely evening talking to a friend while we worked through her mending pile. So much nicer to do the mending with company 🙂

Really can’t wait to see the finished aquamarine lurex product!

Heidi, you’ll never believe it – I just gave my 3-year-old a choice between the bright green stretch satin and the bright red fine-wale corduroy … and she chose the corduroy! Hooray! Now I know I can get her dress done in time for the party on Saturday.

I just finished up Garrett’s shirt now onto drafting the pants, sketchbook longs. I hope to be done by tonight although the Christmas program is being postponed.

Yay, Rtwg! Much easier to sew and it will be so cute!

Sighing with relief for you rtwg! Sharon the shirt looks wonderful! I need to make one similar to be a “farmer” shirt for our presentation night. He has to look like a farmer in his tractor but we aren’t allowed to make a cab which defeats the purpose. So instead he might have to look like a farmer in a box that depicts a tractor!

I am finally catching up on some sewing. I have actually sat down and started assembling the denim lisette skirt I cut out ages ago. I even had to take it in again which is encouraging. I want to make the other one tomorrow along with some other things that have been dangling and hanging around.

We have one of the two Community Christmas parties this weekend so something nice and comfortable is sought after. I also have to make some casual gear for Imogen. Lots to do as always.
