What are you sewing now?

Yesterday was a disaster. I was just about ready to go in and press those round pinwheels early when the distractions started and I had to put them aside. Then on getting ready for the school run, Imogen slipped and hurt her coccyx, so it ended up being that because I was taking them to school and there was no parental backup at home, they both got the day off from school!
And I managed to press just three round pinwheels ready to sew!
Today no sewing, just shopping!

I hope her bottom feels better soon Tamara. Heat packs are good.
I have all my camp cutting done(I am sorry if you are sick of hearing about it) I am quite excited to see the back of it and then start on my pretty Christmas sewing.

Finished Travel/Tracksuit.
On to the Sleepover pj’s in the softest cuddliest flannelette imaginable.
I want to make baby wraps from it.
I hope you get good results from the doctor Sharon.

Thanks Nicole, she says to say thank you and that it is not feeling so bad at the moment. She took a cushion to school today so it and the nurofen must’ve helped. Glad to “see” you popping in and sewing. And three cheers for the back of camp sewing for the year.
I looking forward to tomorrow when I can continue working on those round pinwheels. Today I was at Spotlight, without the voucher that was emailed to me but I picked up some fat quarters to use on my nephew’s library bag and reading folder that I plan to include in his Christmas parcel. Dinosaur appliqués made from photocopied pictures from the stories that are also part of his gift. I won’t start it though until the table runner top is completed. I just have to figure out how much border and backing to order and then I can complete it. I think I have all but abandoned the idea of making one for my mum. She has a special birthday in March so I might make her something with the layer cake for then instead.
Fingers crossed for a positive doctor’s visit Sharon.

Glad to hear you’re seeing the end of camp sewing Nicole! I just looked at your pictures on Flickr. All lovely things.
I lost momentum on Isabel’s dress when I showed it to her (finished bar hemming) and she requested ties at the waist – we found a ribbon she liked but I’m not sure about it. Plus I have to unpick the (serged) side seams and re-do them if I’m to put ties in. Gah!
And when we started discussing it Sofia piped in that she wanted ties too. Double-gah!
So instead I focused on painting the walls in their new rooms and left the dresses be for a bit. I think I’ll deal with it tonight.

Thank you Nicole and Tamara, yesterday was the cardiologist (had Echo done) today I see my new family doctor. After the last toxic thyroid storm I had I started having some heart problems. (oh yay me) But on the great side I did finish up Sarah’s pants yesterday. She is pleased as punch with both pairs. One pink with lace and the other are a ruffley camouflage so she can go “hunting” with grandpa. She so looks up to my dad, I love it. : ) I hope to get a picture of the two of them together in their camo.
Now onto Prince Caspian! I have a tea party pants suit in brown suiting I want to make him with a long sleeve teal plaid dress shirt. It’s the same plaid as the one from the older boys’ Easter shirt. I really want this done for Thanksgiving. I do hope I can get it sewn!

Oh Sharon, please take good care of yourself! You too, Nicole! All that running around with doctors’ appointments and fixing things for other ailing people is seriously, and tiring work. (I do a little bit of it myself for a dear friend who is wheel chair bound with MS – today I had to buy a haggis!!!!! – at least it offers variety. Finally finished off a bunch of stuff which I’m about to post on Flickr, and even better, was given good opp to measure a 4 yr old girl properly. I made her the Vintage Romper Pinafore from Sew Beautiful recently but it was by guess and golly, and that always makes me anxious. So hard to persuade parents that their kids need to be measured for home-sewing, and that being told their age, and what size clothes are bought for them from Target is not as helpful as they think it is. AUGH!!
I intend to comfort myself by purchasing some more O+S patts 50% off, yippee!!
Meanwhile, to all who celebrate Thanksgiving, I wish you a lovely day, and may all your friends and family find that the road to a delicious meal, and an enjoyable gathering really is a short one.

And the echocardiogram results were fine??? Oh golly gosh, that is a second friend with heart issues!
We have issues over the size of cushion this morning – the one she took yesterday needs washing so she has a choice to take a pillow or go without. She seems better but you can’t always tell because she isn’t always vocal regarding pain.
I want to keep going on the assembling process of these blocks. I will have to order more fabric as it went much larger than the pattern but that’s ok, the table is massive! I might just whip up a nice cushion cover to go over the insert in the cupboard just so Imogen has something more size approved tomorrow.

I have found my sewing plate to be very full for the amount of time up my sleeve so have had to decide to put the lifesaver quilt aside for a March birthday (so it will only be a ufo during the Christmas period) and concentrate on other things.
Namely, a dress for presentation night. A “farmer” outfit (teacher hasn’t told us stereotype or mini dad). And I still have to get to those skirts which might need further alterations.
Just awaiting notes from school as to specifications and then I can get cracking.

I’m just finishing up the Kestrel coat by Clever Charlotte, in wine coloured velveteen. It’s gorgeous. A tiny bit like the Sunday Brunch jacket, but a little more dramatic. I’m thinking about making a coordinating winter hood from Little Things to Sew. And then I am finally going to tackle the fairytale dress. Not sure why I let this pattern intimate date me quite so much!

Thank you ladies! I will not find out the results until I have the stress test done. I sadly did not finish Prince C outfit but I did almost get done with tea party suit. I think it will look very dapper on him. : )
I have to start on birthday pj’s for my nephew son’s 2nd birthday. I am going to use this cute footprint flannel for his with a soft blue flannel for the facings. But fist Miss Ella (aka doll) needs a soft pair of baby overall. They really shouldn’t take but a hour to make. I love these wee little doll clothes. I am going to make her a blouse and skirt and a dress for part of Sarah’s Christmas present.

Nothing important to add, but Robin that is the funniest predictive text error I’ve seen for ages! I let the Fairy Tale pattern “intimate date” me recently and it wasn’t so bad. She was very gentle with me and my first time was quite painless!
Wishing everybody, and their relatives, good health!
