What are you sewing now?

New dead-lines. The Tardis bag doesn’t seem to want to materialise itself (i.e. I can’t come up with a good idea for one) so I have almost decided to not push it. Tonight is the last night this week I have when I can sew anything. I have decided we are having Pizza Hut take out for dinner so maybe there can be some cutting after all.
Isabel’s school is having a masque in December instead of Nobel festivities and she asked me to have her dress done by then. I’m not happy about her wearing her Christmas dress before Christmas (especially in school). But I may give in.
12 years ago LINKSans pockets, I think the actual sewing of the vest only took me two hours. Now that I have made pockets for the trousers I am sure they would not add more than an hour,

I’ve made 3 vests and I find the hardest part is turning the belt right side out! In comparison the welt pockets are easy, and they are with Liesl’s instructions.
12 years ago LINKI think that’s true, Heidi – turning the belt right side out probably took me 15 minutes!

This is good know, I plan on ordering this pattern for my boys this next week. I need to make their holiday clothes before time runs out!
12 years ago LINKI have had no time to sew in two days! The trousers sit, one pocket done, one barely begun. Won’t have time tonight but perhaps tomorrow. I’m starting to get antsy. Last night I watched TV with the husband instead of sewing (on the machine), but my hands got itchy so I made one of those felt leaf garlands from Pinterest. It was fun and now I want to make another.

Ok, thanks. I think I will do the pockets, but maybe skip the belt. On the other hand, I’d like to make these big because I want them worn next year too. My house is really filthy and today is usually a big cleaning day, but since we are in the middle of a building project that will only create more dirt this weekend……. I’m seriously thinking of skipping my housework altogether and sewing instead. And doing something fun with baby girl. But my parents are coming for Thanksgiving…

I am working on the Art Museum pants and just realized I have less than a week to finish them. Hmmmm…. Maybe a day of hooky from work?

No sewing again today, sick kiddo at home! I might stick a pdf together instead.

Traced off three tank tops from the latest Ottobre and drafted front and back turtle shell pattern for Teenage Mutant Nija Turtle costumes! The shells are cut but I need to re cut the front shell as the stretch is going the wrong way. I had been thinking badminton shorts if I have time but since the oldest two are boys I think maybe shortened sleepover pants might be better as a quick easy sew and comfy to move in. What do you think?

Eeeep, my mother has been poorly so I have been back and forth to the hospital and my sewing (and blogging) time has been eaten up.
Yesterday I made a Tea Party dress for a birthday gift and I am halfway through 3 Bleuet dresses (as uniforms) for the Twins to take on camp.
I *need* to finish another pair of pj’s and a travel/track suit for camp and would like to make Hugo a shirt.
They leave next Sunday at 7am from the City.
As I said, Eeeep!
If its a costume Heidi, simple and sturdy all the way!

Slowly making my way through sewing a very tiny very fiddly miniature quilt. Squaring the blocks up is the most difficult thing and a few unpicks here and there. No wonder people only make one, ever! Do a good job and it will be one for the show next year and I can tick it off the extensive list.
Also totally forgotten what pattern I wanted to use to make these Christmas quilts! Urgh! Need to reacquaint myself with Lumosity or book into a day spa somewhere and destress! Which ever is easiest.

They are costumes Nicole but for a gymnastics presentation performance so they need to be comfy and easy to move in. And yes they will be sturdy. Costumes get so much wear and tear that I sew them just like I would regular play clothes! I am up to sewing on the turtle shells and tummies and then to sew up the tops. I have spent a lovely couple of days cutting, tracing and drawing for them while talking to my niece sewing Christmas presents. It’s lovely to sew with someone else for a change, especially when doing the boring bits like tracing and cutting. 🙂

Oh dear Nicole, I hope your mother gets well very soon. As some times I have more to sew than time so pick the things most important to sew first. Good luck!

Thank you Sharon. I think it will be long term but we will get there. xx
