Oh no! Thoughts and prayers coming your way Nicole! I completely understand what you must be going through having experienced a hospitalised mil only two short years ago. I pray for a very different outcome though.
12 years ago LINKI’m so sorry to hear about your mom Nicole. It is so rough to see our parents ill.
I have two sick children at home and my husband has been working around the clock. I managed to finish the second welt pocket on the trousers so it can’t be too much longer … maybe the sickos will nap for awhile this afternoon so I can finish!

I finished one teenage mutant ninja turtle costume yesterday and I need to re cut one shell and redraw the lines on the other one but definitely nearly there. Hope you get some sewing time soon Nicole and that the biggies have a great time 🙂

I have just completed a number of pinwheel blocks cut from halving a layer cake. The next step is to cut the neutral solid to form the centres and backs as well as the background of what will be my sister’s lifesaver table runner christmas present. Still have to order border, backing and binding fabric to really complete it but I have a bit of a list to add that to.
I hope to stitch the pinwheels into the circles and turn them through tonight while watching Bones. That’s if I stay awake that long.

Sharon, your Waldorf doll is *so* beautiful — there’s an amazing toy shop not too far from here with all kinds of wooden and handmade toys, Waldorf dolls, natural beeswax crayons (you know that kind of shop?) and honestly, your doll is identical to the ones that sell for $150. Inspiring!
I think I’m going to aim for that to be next year’s Christmas gift.

Sarvi Thank you! You should see her dolly with the little crochet cardigan and crochet Mary Jane shoes! I am half way done with her hair but I have to run to the fabric shop this next week (about 50 minutes from the house) to buy more yarn, it’s baby alpaca and oh so soft and smell very lovely . I plan on making her a soft fuzzy jumper and a Christmas dress too. I hope to have it all done this week. The cute part is that Caspian loves it too, he seen it while I was showing my mom the finished cardigan. I think he will get one for his Easter gift this next year.
12 years ago LINKTwo sick kiddos has turned into three. I’ve been embroidering and hand-sewing felt Christmas ornaments in front of the TV in the evenings with the husband. But today if they all nap at once (ha ha), I will work on those trousers!

Managed to cut, trace and sew the pinwheels into circles this morning before heading to woodwork. Arrived at school to find an ambulance in the car park – first aid training for k-10 and no emergency, just my forgetfulness.
Now I have just over an hour to cut, trace and sew the little circles that will be the lifesaver centres. I can then cut them into circles and turn the whole lot through altogether tonight.

I hope all your kids get to feeling better soon Roundtheworldgirl! I know I sure don’t like it when my littles are under the weather.
Well I did get all four scarves done this weekend and did get two pairs of After school pants cut out but I still have to sew them together, to make that better it is snowing this morning and will be tomorrow too so I have, have to make them today! I was wanting to get to some thanksgiving sewing for the two little ones but I might only have time for Caspian’s now.

Nicole, I hope your moms recovery goes well. Sending healthy thoughts your way.
I didn’t get as much sewing done this weekend as I hoped. All three of my kids went to sleep over at my aunts house! Can you imagine? All three. Needless to say, hubby and I enjoyed the peace and quiet with a movie, far too much wine and Indian delivery. And we got to sleep in. In peace. It was kind of eerie in the morning, actually. Plus, we made two trips over the river to drop them off and pick them up.
But, I am plugging away at a few Communion dresses at once, I cut a Fairy Tale version in eyelet/broderie. I modified the sleeves so I could take advantage of the embroidered selvedge, but I’m going to bate them in place to make sure I like the shape. I’m also making a very simple skirt for myself for Thanksgiving from some Irish tweed that came from my grandmothers stash. I think she bought it on a trip to Ireland probably some 30 years ago. My cousin is bringing her Irish boyfriend home from Dublin, so everyone cross fingers there will be an Irish wedding announcement!

Oh what a great excuse for an intercontinental journey!
I managed to cut, trace, sew and cut some more the little circles for this supposed table runner in alot less time than I though it would take. The pinwheels are even now round!
I am up early on a school day so will try and get the chance to press them all out before the kids get up and when I return from the school run I can then cut the background. Of course I went and did many more than the pattern requires so I may not have enough for all the backgrounds. However, my excuse is that this is covering a rather huge pool table that doubles as the dining table so if I run out, I will just have to put it with the growing list of things in an order.

My teenage mutant ninja turtle tanks and masks are done! I have drafted the next night gown and I was going to finish cutting my modified Puppet show gymboree knock off dress but my fabric is too narrow!! 🙁 and nothing else in my knit stash is even slightly large enough!! Frustration! 🙁
Ok, that’s off my chest. Off to hang the washing and probably back to the nightgown. 🙂
