Oh Sharon, I can’t wait to see that doll. I have wanted to make one ever since I received the Growing Up Sew Liberated pattern book as a gift. Unfortunately my girls would not appreciate a handsewn doll. How lucky you are that yours will!

I ‘hope’ to sew up my Everyday skirt today!

And maybe cut some pj’s from my new Lisette fabric http://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/10603373806/

I did sew up my Everyday skirt, its a lovely sew. I also finished a vintage blouse for Elsa.

Tonight I need to run up some simple table runners for the Melbourne Cup luncheon committee.

Making my first 2+2 shirt, it is so cute in the check I’ve used! I now want to make the whole matching set!

I haven’t been able to sew all weekend! Now especially as a storm has taken the power – oh how I love summer! I have however, cut out (or started to) a teeny tiny version of the Thimble blossoms puddle jumping quilt. I just have to cut the white bits before having it ready to sew. It will adorn the wall of the nook once done.

Tomorrow, is “sewing with wood” day so I doubt I will get the opportunity. Roll on Tuesday, maybe just maybe something with happen then.

I’m making the Fairy Tale dress for the first time and I have to say I am really, really enjoying myself! It’s one of those patterns that makes you keep holding up what you’re making and admiring it.

Having seen just the bodice and skirt I definitely want to make one with no collar or sleeves.

Now I’ve added the collar I want to make another one with a collar but no sleeves, and on it goes…

I spent the last couple of days clearing out my scraps bin. Made some good headway – I had been keeping even the teensiest scraps of everything, so there was a lot to toss. While doing so I cut 4×4″ squares out of most of my scraps, intending at some point to make a patchwork quilt. I also cut a bunch of larger squares (7″ to 9″ depending on how much fabric I had) out of my flannel scraps for baby wipes and serged them together today. They are so handy for wiping snotty noses, and there are quite a few of those round these parts lately.

I have identified fabric for new dresses, probably of the Playtime variety, for both girls, but I can’t seem to motivate myself to start cutting. Maybe I’ll just go to sleep instead.

Nicole, I just did K’s 3rd birthday last week and decorated with all the pink uncut yardage in my stash. I didn’t hem anything because I didn’t want to waste it. I just folded it to the right size and pressed it a little, hiding the raw edges as best I could. It looked great.

I am almost nearly finished hemming the uniform pants. I took a page from the O and S patterns and hemmed them with a cuff so I could let them out later! Awesome. My son is about a size 8 in the waist, but a 12 or even 14 in length. Now that he’s in big boy sizes, I can order them unhemmed from Lands End, put in the cuff and get much more wear out of them. I hope, anyway. I also saved the cutoff pieces so I could even add another cuff later if I really need to.

I’d like to run up a quick flannel nightgown for her and then late this week, I will be starting on another Fairy Tale first communion dress!

I do the same thing with fabric too meleliza, tulle works really well too for parties.

I am about half way done with the woldorf doll. After sewing the ears and main body on I decided the ears were not as god as I wanted them so I resewn them on, I glad I did too. I also redid the body stuffing too so she is nice and cuddly. Hopefully today I can attach the arms and legs, we’ll see.

Sewing nothing! After giving me trouble for the past few weeks, my iron finally completely crapped out yesterday. 🙁 but I am cutting a few things.

Oh, no Sharon, the iron dieing is nearly as bad as the sewing machine but hopefully cheaper to replace! A big pain!

I brought home my new Bernina B380 today! I’m thinking a pair of puppet show shorts for the first project! 🙂

I’m drowning in fabric! I have everything everywhere. I am aiming to reduce the clutter on the floor and somehow get it into the cupboard. Reason? I have to turn the nook into a lovely guest area and I have about 3 weeks to do it in – plenty of time and then I can sew once it is complete, meaning I get it done quick smart and then I can spend the rest of the three weeks sewing!

Skirts still not made. I have lost my nerve and by the time I get around to it I might have to take them IN! Wouldn’t that be good?

Mel I have a bad headache all day today thanks to donging my head on a very low beam in the chookhouse (the one where the little medium sized one are). I feel concussed! Hope your iron behaves!

off to collect kids and peruse the link Heidi has sent.

    Happy sewing everyone.

I finished Isabel’s new tee yesterday. It’s not an O+S pattern though, but nice all the same. She had a few objections to it so I am planning on altering the pattern slightly before making a second one. I’m beginning to like this knit sewing actually.

So I’m starting the girls’ Christmas Library dresses tonight. I asked them not to grow any more between now and Christmas so the dresses still fit come December. They promised to try 😉

I also need to clear up my sewing room. I have too many boxes with knick-knacks on the floor after we tidied our downstairs for turkey dinner on Saturday. “Just put it in my sewing room” I kept saying and now I can hardly move in there.
