I made some little blouses from the bag of unfinished objects that Motherof5 sent me in the post. And a Music Class skirt to go with them.

it was fun sewing something with no instructions and no real idea how it should go together. I used the tried and true What-Would-Liesl-Do method for working out how to deal with facings, collar attachments, curved hems etc. There’s no way I could have done this a few years ago.

Having said that I’m not clever enough to work out some of the other unidentified cut-out things in the pile Nicole posted. I think it could be fun to post some pictures and have a put this together in your head and tell me how it should go competition

Well, one pair of leggings got made today and I have a huge piece of knit out to make two more when I realise that I really should wash the first pair to see if my no-pre-wash experiment paid off.

Those leggings are so cute, I love the fabric!

I did finish up Prince Caspian’s lamb costume until I decided that he needs black LTTS mittens for his hands. It will probably be cold on trick-or-treat night and it will look so cute with the rest of it. The great part is that the costume is a perfect fit! Everything stitched together nicely. Caspian loves the pants, he rubs them and giggle. The bad part he hates, hates the hat. He will not let me put it on his head, or the shirt, the shirt is as almost as bad as the hat. I hope with the cooler weather he will change his mind. I did get pictures if him alone while he slept. After I get Sarah’s Bo peep costume done I want to have pictures of them both done. I am so excited!

Thank you Sharon! I am going to the fabric store tomorrow and I think I will come home with that cloud fabric in a few more colourways.

Lightning sounds like a great idea. It would certainly be fun.

Lotta the leggings sound fab! I didn’t make any this time around but will do them shorter to go under the tunics – 3/4 length for summer and shorter still for high summer. They’d go great under skirts and dresses but just as well for around home when it is too hot to go outside.

Such a shame for Caspian to object to half the costume. It is difficult to get them understand why they need to wear it at that age. I hope he can comply come trick or treat night. He makes the most darling lamb!

    The lamb is very cute!

I have just made two pairs of leggings for me to wear this weekend! Needed a little tweaking on the calves but the fit is great. I modified a yoga pants pattern I made from a pair of Supre yoga pants a couple of years ago, but this time I changed the waist to a more leggings like waist rather than the fold over waist band. Very happy 🙂

    The lamb is adorable!!

One of the flannel nightgowns I made my girls has developed a hole along the front bodice/skirt seam. I guess I didn’t serge carefully enough. Now I have to mend it – which won’t take long – before I can start something else. That effectively killed my motivation for today. Now that the princess party is over (hallelujah!) I can focus on real garments. Playtime … dreaming of Playtime.

Offer a lollipop if he wears the hat? Just long enough for a picture? I’m dying to see the little lamb!

I spent the afternoon fitting my friends witch costume. It went really well and the thing looks pretty gosh darn good, if I say so myself.

Melanie, there are sleeping piccies in the O+S pool, so cute!

I am making a Deer and Doe Bleuet dress for the Twins, its a trial run for fit and to see if it will pass as a school tunic.

I finished tracing the Library Dress in size 10 yesterday. Finally figured out a fast way to trace all those pieces on my kitchen table without a multitude of bad words.

I have a Playtime Tunic cut out from the blue could fabric and I bought a piece of raspberry pink clouds for her as well. Just making this blue one to test for size.

If it fits I’ll try and track down some grass green jersey for leggings as she requested.

I just finished making a sweater which I think is quietly hilarious. Waiting for it to dry after washing off pencil marks then I’ll take some pics tomorrow.

I (bravely) took some advice from round here and fiddled with my bobbin tension to get my double needle hems just right. That, along with the woolly nylon and I think I’ll have great looking and non stitch popping seams.

Now I hope the brand new back up bobbin casing will be dialled just right for regular sewing.
