Wow, Tamara, good luck! That’s a daunting pile of stuff. I am planning to work on the fairy tale dress this morning, but feel a little guiltyignoring the kids. Maybe they’ll play nicely together for a little while and let me work.

Hi there, busy women. I hope you can achieve most of what you’d like to do before Christmas, and whatever yu can’t do, you can live with. A few days of extremely hard work has enabled me to finish (wash and iron) the two Make it Perfect skirts, two music boxes, and put the flutter sleeves in twins’ christening frocks, and I’m knackered!!! Still have to wrap my family’s gifts and post. I’ll either have to pay a fortune to get it all there on time, or depending on total, decide that they will have to enjoy them “within the octave” as they used to say, decades ago. Photos to follow soon. Too tired at moment. Good news/bad news is that husband of dear friend/member of larger family is working over here for a couple of days and will take his family’s gifts home with him. Just a little break from an otherwise reluctant elf; I think all Santa’s helpers have gone to the pub.

Can’t wait to see the results of all your hard work. Good luck with Liberty frock, M!!

I forgot to add yesterday that I showed a multitude of fabrics to my miss 10 and the prints I thought she would choose, she didn’t. I think her tastes are changing.

Anyway, 4.30am I had a wake up/ get up moment this morning. That is very early for me and the first day of school holidays as well. But I have to do what the list dictates and the earlier the better as this week is going to be in force with the heat – hot at all angles!

So I have traced a shortened version of the bedtime story pants and have laid the size 10 out on Mickey mouse fabric (makes a nice change from trains) and will integrate this in with the little boy sewing so there aren’t any questions. The super girl nightie though will have to wait as she WILL ask questions! I’ll do a field trip top to go with the boy’s pants and thought I would do the badminton top with the girl ones – that is also why they have to be done separate!

I will work on the boy pjs today and hopefully have them all ready to send. Then this afternoon after a possibly much needed siesta (or a borocca) I will trace the doctors outfit. I did contemplate looking for a ready made one at the toy shop when I go tomorrow but it won’t be the same to give a bought dress up that doesn’t have “Dr J. B” on it! And tonight after more coffee, I will hopefully have the energy to get started on it.

    Lots to do.

Hope the Liberty dress goes well Meleliza.

I’m working on the pj’s too Tamara. Mine seem to be taking f.o.r.e.v.e.r. The french seam are going great though, thanks ladies for the help on these! šŸ™‚ I showed my oldest son the inside of his pj top and wondered where the seam was. When I explaned to him about the french seam he was as excited about it as I was. Love it!

I am taking a teeny break to finish up some small things for the teachers’ gifts, sadly I am not feeling well so it has taken me longer to get anything sewn. That and the kiddos are on a sugar high and the baby is teething. Will I ever get done??

Goodness, I feel like I need a coffee just reading about what you’re all getting up to.

I got a little bit sidetracked by another pair of “fancy pants” yesterday. But the only thing left in my to do pile is that hand quilting. It was a mistake estimating how many days I thought it would take me as now I’ve relaxed on it a bit and I’ve lost that “deadline urgency” that makes me work well.

Good luck with all the projects everyone.

Teachers’ gifts done! First pj’s done! I’ll be starting the next pair while watching movies tonight. (well listening anyway.)

since last night i’ve finished 3 skirts, 1 dress and 2 sets of summer pjs and i’m starting to feel knackered… still got a bunch of things to get done though… might have to revise down the list methinks šŸ™‚

how about you ladies? any of you revising down your lists?

Finished! the quilt is in the wash. Let’s hope it doesn’t fall apart, being 100% hand sewn by me.

Now I feel, if only I could fly, I could outsource myself elf-style to come around and help anyone else out. Failing that I’m just going to kick back and watch you all work!

I have cut my list way down. With my serger not working I have decided that all the things I wanted done is not going to happen now. I think I can live with that. I just need to finish 2 pj’s and bunny bowing set, and a first Christmas bib for the baby. I plan on taking the holidaies off for a break when the kids get out of school after these thinga are done.

Oh, today was scrapped as a sewing day – plans changed so I went shopping a day earlier instead. Just as well, as crabby me isn’t in the mood after 16.5 hours of being moving around in awake state – I need sleep!

Tomorrow I will probably be up really early again but this time I’ll stay home and sew! Four days and three night to get things done!

Three and a half days off! I don’t have to be back at work until lunch time Christmas Eve! So aiming to finsh the Harry Potter robes in the next 3 days. Today I plan to cut everything for the next 4 robes, finish drafting the last hood piece and hopefully start sewing. But I have just remembered I am out of black cotton šŸ™ and I will have to sew what I can in red and leave the top stitching until later. Hope you all get everything done (or at least the really important bits).

I have started Elsa’s Christmas dress which is a hybrid vintage pattern/School photo dress pattern.

We are using a vintage cotton guipure lace dress, unpicking and mending the holes and then dyeing it yellow.

It will be very very short.

I have not taken on a great deal of Christmas sewing this year. It has been lovely to have the time to really enjoy the process but I am very envious of all the lovely things being made.

Today I am ironing all the best clothes ready for the next round of parties.

Sounds lovely for Elsa, but how did she get very, very short past Jed? Are you making it with a lace overlay? I have black lace that I want to use for a school photo with pink (or purple) underneath and would love the inspiration.

I have cut all my remaining linings (4 red linings) and ironed one black sheet (while dreaming of what I can sew after Christmas!). Now to iron one or two more and cut 3 black outers and I’ll be up to sewing!

I’m seeing lace overlay everywhere this party season, so she’ll be right on trend! I got a marathon sewing session this afternoon and evening, thanks to hubby being at home from now on. šŸ™ I set both sleeves, hemmed lining and skirt and finished the inside of the lining to the zipper. I still need to bind the arms he seams, add some thread loops for the sash and hook and tack the collar in place. However, it’s really lovely and I think good enough to debut at our last play group tomorrow morning.

Sounds lovely Meleliza, but I think your game to take it too playgroup! Well mine at least, as we have paint, glue and other messy things. Can’t wait to see the pics.

Just got the best present, a friend of mine is moving and brought over a garbage bag of fabric and patterns!
