It is a beautiful website. I want to share with you all this website. It isn’t mine. I have no association with it whatsoever, except that I bought my son’s Christening gown from her and didn’t realize she was local to me until after I found her and it.

The work is stunning. Simply stunning. I know how much you all will appreciate this.
10 years ago LINKmeleliza @melelizaThank you! And thanks for sharing that link. I’ve just had a look at her website and it really is lovely work. I’ll look again when I have more time. Off to ballet class now!
Ps – I don’t think anyone here is local, but if you’d like an invitation to the trunk show, do email me.
10 years ago LINKMama_Knowles @Mama_KnowlesI would love to go if I was up there! My husband is form up there by you, maybe one day we could meet. (I still have not met nay of his family or friends up there yet in 12 years together)
10 years ago LINKmeleliza @melelizaWow, really? Well if you ever do make it, let me know! ๐
10 years ago LINKOne major problem with how long mail takes to get here is that sometimes I go a little crazy binge-shopping … and forget how much I ordered. Yesterday two of four recent fabric orders arrived. ::blush::. I scored on several counts.
1) Joann’s sent me 4 yards of the Lisette chambray instead of the 3 I had ordered (and actually I only needed 2.5; they won’t let you order half-yards online). Not sure what to do with all that chambray but it was still a nice surprise.
2) The rayon challis I ordered on major sale from Fabric Mart turns out to be Kaffe Fassett! I got it for less than a third of the retail price.
3) All the Fabric Mart cuts were very generous – at least a half-yard so on each one!
I have plenty to keep me busy now, and am a little sheepish at the remaining two boxes …
10 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitWow! What a bargain! We have such a lack of variety of stores here that online is generally how I shop for fabric too! Never though, have they sent me more than what was ordered! That is lucky and I am sure there would be many suggestions for the excess chambray. I thought it was a good shopping trip when Lisette was just 30% off!
Oh and going crazy with the parcels happens to be my middle name! So don’t worry on that count you truly got a good bargain with that lot!
Wouldn’t it all be used before your relocation?
10 years ago LINKmeleliza @melelizaChambray is so useful I’m sure you can find something to do with it. Summer shorts are great or a summer skirt. Puppet show, lazy days, everyday, etc. A Sorbetto tank would be nice too.
10 years ago LINKTamara @justsewit10 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitBoth kids safely deposited at school for the start of the year! I walked into Imogen’s class and just about started crying! They look so big! But I am positive they will have a great year.
10 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5I hope they do Tamara.
10 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitThanks Nicole! I sat in on the assembly this morning just to get the heads up on the changes. So glad I did. My girl is in the 6/7 class not the 5/6 class and I am very ok with that. One of the aids who happens to also be a family friend asked if she could handle it. I am a little confused about why she was actually asking but said that she will rise to the challenge she just has to believe in herself alot more than she does. I feel that the teaching staff are placing faith in her to do just that by placing her in the higher class. To me it show that they see her as capable and again I am more than happy with that.
N was ok, he was just sad it was going to be the final year he could play on the adventure playground! Mind you I walked into the classroom and they were all sitting on the mat already and it was well before bell time! I really don’t like arriving late as it gives a negative first impression but his teacher is a quiet young lady who I hope will see him for the great kid he is and not be afraid to communicate with me.
I was informed we are straight into swimming lessons from next week! So it will be on for young and old at the sewing machine to get those shorts done plus new bathers. I just hope I have everything I need at hand as I just don’t want yet another shopping trip to Spotlight this month! I am wishing I had laminate fabric. The kids need new swimming bags too!
10 years ago LINKmeleliza @melelizaWe’ve been having a rough time of things here, so I could use some distracting fun stuff to discuss. I just read about this in threads magazine. http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/35608/the-fabric-store-opens-shop-in-la. I wondered if any of our Aussie friends are familiar with this store. I’m noire near LA, but they mention mail Oder might be an option. I’m thinking if it’s successful, they might expand to the east Coast too…
And, when, oh when are we going to see the new patterns? Am I the only one on the edge of my seat?
10 years ago LINKSarvi @SarviOh good, it’s not far from Mood, so I can go broke twice as fast.
10 years ago LINKbren5kids @bren5kidsNo, Melanie, you are definitely not the only one ๐ I can’t tell you how many times a day I check the blog to see if there’s the slightest hint of anything!
10 years ago LINKwith love Heidi @with love HeidiI’ve never heard of it, but I have lived in two of the least accessible state capitals in Australia! On a positive note, I got my first paycheck in 6 months at my new job! Very exciting to be able to go and buy needles and thread and other essential sewing stuff ๐
