Well! We can do a happy dance you got going pre induction date! You are clever! Hope all those tricks were to “blame”. Congratulations to you and your family. But wow one hour! That was fast.

So glad he’s finally here and you are enjoying him. Just adore the fact the bigger siblings love him already – I sincerely hope it doesn’t change.

Here’s to another wee one to sew for! Yay!

Oh congratulations! So good you didnt have to be induced. Im so glad he’s healthy. I’m off to look up how big 3 kilos is.

Oh if 9pound four oz is just over 4kg and 11 pound 3 oz is just over 5 kg then 3 kg is I would say about 8lb? Tell me if I am correct Meleliza. No! Just checked it is a super small 6.6 pound and again I wont repeat my dh and his “farmer slang”

Oh and V, I am ecstatic he is your third and lightest babe. It proves that they don’t get heavier in succession – which allows me to hope for a next time baby that is much lighter than 4kg. Another excuse for a happy dance.

    6 lbs 10 oz I think. A lovely size.

That is a great size. My first was 6 lbs 5 oz (about 2.9 kg) and she was so easy to carry around for a good long time. Still is, actually – at nearly 4 she is only about 30 lbs (that’s a bit less than 14 kilos). Tall and skinny like her daddy. Won’t tell you, justsewit, how much the other two weighed …

Oh to have a baby that tiny! Half your luck! I thought my daughter was big at 9lb 4oz but then when N came along with 11lb 3oz, I don’t know who was more surprised, me or the hospital staff! He was the biggest baby delivered in the ward and the anaesthesiologist joked the next one would be 15lb! Well it is nearly 8 years later and we haven’t been (so far) blessed with this suggested 15lb child. My friend was having her youngest and third child about a week after I had N and he was 11lb 8oz and she is a tiny tiny lady – of course they weren’t even going to suggest she push him out!

We were expecting Noah to be around 8lb and that’s why we were in shock for a whole week! But then this is what he weighed at my last scan! Hence we went with plan b and had no labour! And funnily enough I was ok with it!

I’m going to give a first birthday shout out to little Prince C (not Charles)! Remember how we were all very excited to hear he had finally arrived?! Hope the party went well Sharon.

Wow. The things I miss! Rastis… congrats. A new one to sew for! 🙂

As my hubby and I say, “two and through.” Plus we didn’t want to go from man to man to zone defense, as someone always drops the coverage in zone! LOL

I remember seeing a mother recount a birth story in a movie once to her 50 year old son. I thought at the time, “Who actually remembers all that?” My son turned 7 on Thursday and I can still remember so much about his birth. It is a rather unforgettable experience.

I was induced for him early! (Who ever gets induced early!!!) But he was measuring 9 lbs and was riding so high, no dropping. My ob looked at me the week before and said, “I really really don’t want you to go until the baby decides to arrive. I am seriously afraid that if we do, with the weight he’s putting on, when he decides, he will be too big and it will be too dangerous. You are too small to deliver anything as big as that.” (And this ob was such a pro natural birth doc, that when the size of the baby scared her, you listen.)

I ended up having an emergency C after the induction because SO SO many things went wrong. He was 9 lbs. (I had undiagnosed gestational diabetes).

My daughter was 3 weeks early and 8lbs 5 oz. I was LUCKY to survive that pregnancy. I developed swine flu and the secondary infections. Later I learned 1 in 6 pregnant women who contracted swine flu in the US died. THE US, not some third world country. Crazy. But all’s well that ends well! 🙂

11! Good Lord that’s a lot of baby. My oldest was 9lbs 2 oz and I couldnt carry him easily for all that long. He’s still enourmous at 45″ tall for his 7 years. I hope to get a good shot of him in his new pjs tomorrow. Middle one was the smallest, but caused the most damage. I was in bed for a month! Baby girl was 9lbs 6oz and her head is still in the 100% percentile. She has this belly – I swear I thought for a minute it was another head! 🙂 But I didn’t need a single stitch, so it was just hard work and I’m fine with a little hard work for such a prize.

So I can’t imagine such a tiny thing as 6 lbs, but it must be nice to have one you can carry for a while, especially if you’ve got others to chase.

    Congratulations on the baby!!!!!

I have a cousin who is pregnant with her first and she just found out it is a girl! I am over the moon about the prospect of sewing for the new little one. This particular cousin of mine is very appreciative of handmade and i have been lying in wait for her to have a baby, I have already made a bib, which i gave her when they announced officially (ya I knew earlier than that cause she is so sweet) and I made a Roller Skate Dress too. My cousin’s favorite color is blue and I am so excited to make non pink/purple dresses!

Anyways, been a long time since i have been on here talking to everyone sooooo Hello! and I still love to see what you are making despite the fact that Flickr is a pain!

Just so long as he/ she is healthy, size in the percentile doesn’t matter. My kids have always been off the register, so much so that the health nurse told me I had to put my six month old on a DIET!! She was on breast and started solids – couldn’t help but have a roly poly baby! It is something we have to come up against all the time – the labels of clumsy crop up often simply because the teachers haven’t taken the time to look at the huge hands my son has! And we all know they have taken after me in the athletics department – no olympic selections here I’m afraid!

And then there is the other terror! New panne velvet trousers for this costume are 3/4 length!! (Breath) it is only a school assembly item not the bleeding Tony awards!

Tamara, could you knock up some leg warmers to go under the trousers from the same cloth?

Or my favourite, cover his wellies in tin foil?
