Thinking of you, Virginia. 3/4 of mine were late – started induction with Rosie, but didn’t need much (gel on cervix was all that was needed). Ummm, at the risk of TMI, nipple stimulation works well…. 😉

If its any consolation Hugo was engaged early and still took 3 days to be born. The Twins were no where near ready at 35 weeks and popped out in 6 hours from the first contraction.

That was only one lot of gels.

    Fingers crossed for you.

    xx N

Never had a baby, but definitely thinking of you, Rastis. Certainly, many friends have told me how exciting/uncomfortable the last hours before birth can be. Over 50 years ago, my mother was waiting to be induced with me, and then I finally turned up, 10 days late. So maybe telling this baby what’s what works.

Fingers crossed and prayers that all goes well.

My doula always had me drinking lots of raspberry leaf tea – not fruit tea, medicinal herbal tea. You can get it at Whole Foods or whatever natural grocery store you have. The other thing that she said that worked for us every time was sex. Totally does the trick. 🙂 Sending healthy baby and mommy thoughts your way!

It’s been a day since V’s last message, I wonder if it means baby is on its way?! The suspense is killing me!

What do you do when your plans go whoopsy? Do you crawl into a hole and shut off every loved one or do you put a plan into place to deal with it?

We sowed 4000 acres of wheat last month as part of our cropping program. It was designed to cover a multitude of things. DH is now going around as if the world has ended because 1/4 of this most precious income earner has deceased due to no rain.

He looks at what is lost. I look at what we still have and just keep praying for rain.

Because of this I went and had a brief conversation with fil and found out there is once again a conflict in the whole plan structure. He is currently prepping his house to have some renovations done but it is only now when he is halfway through removing wall paper from the lounge room that I am informed that we have to pay to paint the walls!

Now I am impersonating the wicked witch of the west when a plan doesn’t go her way! (can you imagine me stamping around)

The whole frustration is dealing with people who just don’t communicate effectively enough.

The end of the story is that I told fil off and that he should have told us his plans BEFORE removing the wallpaper!

I will laugh at this in time I am sure.

V hope you are celebrating a job well done – sending love and good thoughts your way!

Dear old J, you poor thing; what a pip all round. Mind you, the crop situation sounds rather serious – I hope some rain turns up soon – or is it already too late? No wonder you forgot the glitter. As someone who has had to attend the dentist 3 times in a week (with consequent large bill), you have my understanding about life ending being something when you were definitely planning something else!! The fact that you can still carry on with costume making is heroic!!

On the plus side for me, the mother of Miss 6 (birthday recipient of most recent creation) is thrilled with preview pics I sent of the outfit which is nice. I’m now in that exciting but nerve racking place about what to start next. I think it will be some vests for little boys whose birthdays are early next month.

Will we get to see pics of N and friends in costume? Two lines? This must be an extremely abridged version of W of Oz.

Anyone out there know how Rastis is going? Surely something must have happened by now.

Oh yes extremely abridged and with two Dorothys! I took the half made hoods to school yesterday and the monkeys were very excited. The lion costume is alas a bit long but nothing that cant be fixed with elastic. I have to spend the weekend sewing like a mad woman and making this wizard costume – who said I could allow my son to be shown up by monkeys and a lion??

I have sent Murray to the newsagent before Mrs O’s funeral to pick up green and red glitter (stipulated un mixed) and lots of it along with PVA glue – here’s hoping he gets it right!

I have been somewhat distracted though – school reports! Nothing I don’t already know but because the teachers are now “government employees” they wont be doing anymore than the bare minimum to help my children “reach their full potential”. I spent the morning googling executive function programs – to help my son’s organisational skills a d was told by my mum (an educator of forty years) to not bother and that the teacher needs more charts in her room and that I need charts! Good golly gee! I hope she can help make them when she invites herself to visit in a couple of weeks!

As for our darling friend rastis – surely she is recuperating and being blissfully in love with her new wee bairn by now!

hi ladies! thank you so much for all your lovely messages! babe is here 🙂 a little boy weighing 3.15kgs (my smallest bub yet!)… i started having lots of contractions before my induction date… went into hospital- but they kind of fizzled out… my OB decided to put some gel on the cervix which resulted in labour coming on… a very sharp, swift 1 hour labour followed with the natural delivery of my little boy… we are both doing really well 🙂 thanks for all the kind messages… trying to get some sleep and keep up with all the feeding now… the kids are so excited to have a little baby brother! xxxx
