I’ve been posting on and off for almost a year, but have never introduced myself. I’m Heather, wife of one hot army man and Mom to six amazing babies!!! Five boys and one girl, ranging in age from 12-2. I started sewing when I got married 14 years ago. My hubby bought me a singer (that thing was awful) and signed me up for a beginners quilting class. I was hooked. I starting sewing (terribly at first) with a sweet fellow army wife. We quilting together, through pregnancies, deployments, moves and raising babies! In the meantime I got a Bernina and always wanted to sew clothes for my kids. But let’s be real, in the early 2000’s there weren’t a whole lot of cute sewing patterns for boys and there certainly weren’t ANY blogs. Fast forward to 2011. I finally had a sweet baby girl a new Janome machine (MY favorite) and a new serger. It was the perfect opportunity to learn to sew clothes. I started with the sailboat pants in the spring of 2012 and have been sewing like crazy ever since. I LOVE sewing for my babies!!! I have definitely found my passion. We live in Kentucky (both of our home states) and enjoy each other and raising our kiddos. Love this site! Can’t wait to sew more!!!

Hello it’s nice to meet you Heather!
My hubby and I have four boys and one girl ourselves. I too started out quilting years ago but I started sewing clothes after we had our baby girl almost four years ago and then I caught the O+S bug when she was a about 15 months old. I sew for all my kids but mostly the four younger ones, my almost 11 year old son is not too crazy to have mama made clothes to wear, this year I hope I can change his mind!
Welcome here!

Hello, Marion Here.
I live in Alhambra. Just came back from a Sew In with LA MQG. We all had a good time together.
I was hoping to meet you, Liesl, when you came through. Miss that opportunity, but hope to stay in touch here until we meet in person.
I’m an avid ARTIST, nature lover, and soon to be grandmother! WooHoo!
Sewing and textiles has been my lifelong love; quilting has been my year long adventure.

Hi,
My name is Anne. I’m new to sewing and new to being a mom. I have one daughter, 16 months. I love sewing for her, and started to learn shortly after I found out I was pregnant. I just finished my first Oliver+s pattern tonight, the classic picnic shorts. I think I’m in love. Up until this point I’ve only sewn McCall, Simplicity, only to discover that the finished garments rarely fit and just don’t hold up well. I don’t think I can ever go back now. I learned more from sewing these shorts, then I have in almost 2 years of sewing. Thank you Liesl for your fantastic patterns!

Hallo Anne, it is lovely to have you join us!
I couldn’t agree with you more, when I ‘slum’ it now with the Big 4 pattern companies I inevitably use many of my Oliver+S tips to improve the results.
How lucky to have a baby girl and have the full gauntlet of pretty dress patterns at your disposal.

Hello all! My name is Liz and I love Oliver + S patterns! I confess I have been reading the threads for a while (and stalking the blog) so I finally wanted to introduce myself. I love to sew (need I say more?). I have two children, both boys though I must admit my first pattern was the Everyday Skirt for myself! I love it. I am working on a sailboat top for my youngest and have at least another two boy patterns yet to cut (sleepover pj trousers and sketchbook shorts). I am really looking forward to the new patterns. We live in the tropics so I am hoping for more boy patterns for hot weather. And more skirts or dresses for me, please! Thank you for all the lovely posts. And thank you Liesl for all the excellent patterns and inspiration. Here’s to more sewing!

Hello everyone! I am a mum to two boys and a girl and I live in England. I am totally addicted to sewing and have spent the last 2.5 years sewing at every opportunity. The very first pattern I bought and sewed was the O+S Music Box Jumper (or pinafore dress as we would say in England!). It was a great success and I haven’t looked back. I have made many many things since then, mainly for my little girl but also for my boys and for me too. I adore it. I have learned so much from you all here on the O+S website so thought it was about time I said hello (and thank you!) and to start sharing a few things I make too. I’ve just uploaded my first ever photo to Flickr on the O+S page – a music class blouse for my daughter!
