Hi Kathy @kjmcinerny , sorry for the late reply.
I tend to trace all my patterns, including the BBD block on thin interfacing (known as Trace and Toile, and similar to Swedish tracing paper).
Then I store each pattern tracing in a clear plastic sleeve in a ring binder.
I have all my ring binders labelled with which patterns are in them and it’s…[Read more] -

Thanks for your reply! I figured it was not a big deal. I was mostly curious. But I often need to move the shoulder seam forward, so was thinking that if I did it for this pattern, I’d wonder where I was shooting for.

Glad you like it! I forget how much exactly, but I think it’s just moved forward 1/2″ It just gives a better fit, in my opinion. You can check the distance by laying the garment flat from the underarm seam. It’s not really a big deal, I just think it looks better when it’s worn.

Hello! The Terrace Dress is described as having a “forward shoulder” and I’m wondering where the shoulder seam should sit.
I’ve already made one version and have planned two more. This pattern has been great for jump starting my sewing mojo. Thanks, Liesl!

Hi Ellen,
Yes I made this exactly as described above in a light denim. It is not a maxi exactly, but mid-calf. I don’t like how it turned out though, so I only wear it around home. The skirt had too much flare for a skirt of that length. I think it’s because the side panels are flared. If I made it again and wanted it longer, I’d fiddle with…[Read more] -

I just purchased the BBD book and am wondering how others organize their master pattern, sizes, and alterations.

Thanks Todd
It’s a shame because I did use it. I seem to be notorious for doubling and tripling up, even though I have a good system for paper patterns. I just didn’t want to do the same with he pdf’s. Yes going through the list of purchases is what I did do.
Thanks again.

How did this turn out? Did you share photos anywhere? How much volume was created? I’d like to attempt the same thing but I’m weary and may just find an alternate pattern.

Tamara,
Last year we upgraded our PDF delivery module. The upgrade provides a more robust and flexible method for delivering PDFs, but one of the things we lost was that single consolidated list of all PDFs you had ever purchased that used to appear on your order history page. (It’s been gone for almost a year now, and this is the first question…[Read more]

Ha ha! I go out of my way to avoid all celebrity gossip and even I haven’t been able to avoid that news! What about something inspired by one of William and Katherine’s kids’ outfits? (I hope I got their names right?) I’ve seen a few photos of some really cute clothes–and they qualify and prince and princess, right?

The Roller Skate would be a great back drop to appliquéd bunting.

Hi,
Just wondering about the change in being able to see our PDF purchases? I could have sworn last time I was able to see my huge list and how many downloads I had on each.
I’m in the process of upgrading some patterns due to my youngest now measuring more of a 4 than a 3. I would dearly love to know if we can still access our PDF list again s…[Read more]

So apparently Prince Harry is going to marry Meghan Markel next weekend here in the uk. I hadn’t noticed 😉 My daughter’s school is having a royal wedding themed dress up day. She could go as a bride, as a princess, in red, white and blue etc. I’ve decided to do a dress covered in red, white and blue bunting. But a can’t decide which dress. Any…[Read more]
