Where to add length

    Hello,
I have made this as written and it turned out beautifully. I am excited to make more, and was hoping to turn this into a maxi skirt. How would I do this with the side panels though? Adding length to the front and back seems easy enough, but the side panels are A lined and I’ve never done that before. Thanks for helping this (relatively) newbie out! 🙂

I have never lengthened a skirt that much Charlene but I would consider adding length in two places. I would divide the the panel into thirds and add the length at these lines.
Does that make sense? So you don’t end up with too exaggerated an A-line.

    It is a lovely skirt.

How did this turn out? Did you share photos anywhere? How much volume was created? I’d like to attempt the same thing but I’m weary and may just find an alternate pattern.

    Hi Ellen,
Yes I made this exactly as described above in a light denim. It is not a maxi exactly, but mid-calf. I don’t like how it turned out though, so I only wear it around home. The skirt had too much flare for a skirt of that length. I think it’s because the side panels are flared. If I made it again and wanted it longer, I’d fiddle with removing some of the flare from the skirt panels. Hope this helps!
