I’m no help on slouchy vs sloppy, but on the sewing with double gauze: it’s trickier than lawn or quilting cotton, at least in my opinion. When sewing the breezy blouse, the bias band was too small to fit and I had to intentionally stretch it quite a lot to make it fit. I assumed I must have cut something wrong, but I’ve gone back and double checked and a size 12 bias band when sewn together is 19in in circumference, while the size 12 armscye is over 20″.?

I have some white, kind of windowpane checked double gauze. I’d like to make a slouchy Classic shirt with it for summer. What’s the best way to make it bigger without looking too sloppy? The dress on the pattern cover is a Japanese linen rayon. The peplum blouse is an embroidered double gauze.
