Our school is tiny (only 130 students) but I am very proud to share that my son, Hugo, won the Student of the Year award last night, at our Presentation Night.

He made a brilliant off-the-cuff speech, so very very proud of him.

I can feel your frustration but your over riding love for the pattern.
My special friend Deb gave me the tip of three rows of gathers to help smooth and ease a sleeve cap. I wonder if that may help here?

I think there are a lot of variables. I have some knit that is easily 20 years old and fine!

Wash it and give the fabric a good stretch, if it doesn’t recover its shape it has probably had its day.

Thank you, I just read when this happens to measure the child’s back width and then the back pattern piece, so I’m going to piece the pattern pieces together and measure before I begin.

I finished the dress, again sort of fudging in the sleeves. I found that if I lined up the underarm seam and ignored all other match points and did not tug on the easing threads at all, it was just large enough to fit.
